Sherrie’s is a no-frills diner in Ishpeming serving up classic comfort food at great prices with genuinely friendly service. We came in around supper time, and it felt like walking into a neighborhood gathering in the best way—calm, quiet, and filled with locals who clearly knew this was the spot.
The fried food stands out right away. Both the regular and hot cheese curds are great appetizers—crispy, flavorful, and a perfect start to the meal. They claim to have the best burgers in town, and honestly, they might be right. The Jalapeño Popper burger was packed with flavor, came with a fried onion ring on top, and hit every note—absolutely worth trying.
The corn dog and fry basket hit the spot, and the special of the night—spaghetti—was a generous plate that looked great coming out of the kitchen.
Food came out fast, the service was attentive, and the overall experience just felt easy and satisfying. No glitz, no gimmicks—just a good meal at a good price. The whole place has a homey, casual vibe—like visiting a relative’s house who knows how to cook and doesn’t overcomplicate anything.

We ate at Sherri’s twice while visiting the area. It was terrific both times. The fish fry was awesome, lake perch tasted like it was fresh caught. The breakfast menu is great too. The biscuits with sausage gravy are delicious. Biscuits are especially excellent, it’s hard to find this kind of quality. Impressive!

Well, when I came in to pick up my to go order…. I noticed that the man in the back cooking was also hitting his vape with one hand while flipping and scrambling food with the other… then when I got home and took a bite of my biscuits and gravy, I had not a hint of any other taste but that of course ground black pepper…. Were you so stressed out from dumping the whole container in the gravy and that’s why you were vaping while cooking?!? Terrible just terrible! It’s not even close to edible!

This is an absolute gem! If you find yourself in the U.P. and are passing through Negaunee and Ishpeming I would highly recommend stopping. Prices were great and the friendly staff made you feel right at home! The parking lot is always full and you may have to wait a bit for your food but I say that’s a great sign that it’s worth it! I highly recommend pulling up a chair and talking to a stranger to kill the time. Who knows you may just find an extended member of your family!

Don’t waste your time or money here, service is horrible, had to clean and clear our own booth, waitress took forever to even acknowledge us let alone take an order for drinks and food , never saw her again until our food showed up well over AN HOUR LATER, no apologies , watched servers leave food sitting in the window for others because they’re too busy flapping their mouths complaining, this place is loud, unclean, and someplace we will never come back to when we travel up North. We always have had good luck at local “mom and pop” places and always try to support local this place is HORRIBLE !!!!!!!

Went there on a Friday night so it was extremely busy, but it was worth the wait. The fish was good and got a very good-sized piece. The waitress was awesome was very attentive. Would definitely go back.

Driving back from the Copper Harbor area and to the airport there weren’t many restaurants open, but we were happy to find Sherrie’s Restaurant. Sherrie, our waitress, was super nice. Cheese curds, jalapeno popper burger, philly cheese steak, banana pie, and chocolate peanut balls. It seems like a locals favorite and it was what we needed for the long road trip ahead.

Great food, great prices. There was a fan or equipment running that made a lot of noise. They’ve tried to put up sound pads. Also got there at the same time as a lot of people due to rain, once most people were eating, it was surprisingly quieter.
