Ono Steak and Shrimp kalihi. 8oz steak and shrimp plate. Was super ono! Was $18 for each plate. Well worth the price. Did not disappoint.

We stumbled upon this gem of a steak and shrimp place tucked away in Honolulu, and wow—what a phenomenal meal! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect: casual yet welcoming, with that unmistakable Hawaiian laid-back energy mixed with the sizzle of a serious kitchen.
We went straight for the signature steak and shrimp combo, and it did not disappoint. The steak was a cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Juicy, tender, with a gorgeous sear and just the right amount of seasoning that let the quality of the beef shine—no heavy sauces needed. It had that melt-in-your-mouth texture you hope for in Hawaii, where fresh ingredients are king.
Paired with it were the garlic shrimp—they were buttery, garlicky (in the best way), that made each bite addictive. The shrimp were perfectly cooked—tender and not rubbery—and the portion was generous enough that we were happily stuffed.
We also tried the chicken and fried noodles, both made to perfection.
Sides were on point too: two scoops of rice, since we asked for no salad.
Service was friendly and quick, the prices felt more than fair for the quality (especially in tourist-heavy areas).
If you’re in Hawaii craving surf-and-turf done right, without the stuffy fine-dining pretension, this place delivers big time.

My go-to spot for protein after a workout. I used to always struggle trying to find a place where I could get steak and shrimp after the gym, and it just so happens that Ono S&S set up shop not even a minute away from my house. Went there for the first time with my dad and, I’ll be honest, my expectations were not that high. I’m glad I was wrong though. Their steak is ALWAYS well seasoned and cooked, served with great shrimp and a salad. If anyone is looking for a good source of protein as a post workout meal or even just craving for steak as a plate lunch, PLEASE do yourself a favor and stop by Ono Steak and Shrimp in Kalihi.
