Their motto is good home cooked food, not from any home cooking that I know. The green beans are fresh out of a can, boiled with no seasoning. The greens are fresh out of a can, boiled with no seasoning. The macaroni is boiled to a mush. The okra and squash are frozen pre breaded. Seems that the cook here just knows how to deep fry and boil. If the owner wants lessons on cooking greens. I’d be willing to teach them how to cook fresh ones with some smoked pork and a few other ingredients.

Staff is always super friendly. Great burgers and the chicken sandwich is my favorite. The butterscotch pie is by far the BEST my husband and I have ever tasted! Treat yourself to dessert, highly recommend the coconut pie or strawberry shortcake as well. The biscuits and gravy at breakfast…yummo.

Simple little restaurant. Some of their food is from frozen and some of it is made in-house. My favorite thing was their fried green tomatoes, which come frozen but which are very well cooked and come with what I believe is a house ranch dressing. I didn’t have any, but my dad also found that he liked their breaded white fish a lot, and he’s a very limited fish guy. Went twice on my break home to Kingsport. Will remember it next time I get to visit home in Tennessee.

The food is good BUT I think it’s WAY OVERPRICED FIR THE TYPE OF PLACE IT IS and especially if you are not even eating there, just picjup! The menu is NEVER the same PRICE AS IT SAYS IT IS EITHER! I think $15-20 for one person’s take-out is rediculous.
