I’ve been a customer of Hollywood Grill for many years, and today’s lunch reminded me why I keep coming back. I stopped in and was pleasantly surprised by their $12 menu. Considering the cost of food in the area right now, this is an excellent value.
I ordered the chicken kebab, and it was absolutely outstanding. The flavor was amazing, especially for the price point. The meal included a generous portion of chicken kebab, rice, a fresh salad, pita bread, all the trimmings, and even a cup of soup. Everything was well prepared and satisfying.
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend this special. It’s well worth it and tastes great.

I came here on a Thursday morning around 11am, it was New Years Day. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and there were three of us (2 adults, 1 child).
There was a very long line which felt intimidating but it moved fast and there were a lot of big parties.
The service was okay, it was busy. However I did feel rushed to order and then it took a long time to get the check. Although again they were very busy.
I got a traditional Breakfast plate, bacon, wheat toast, over easy eggs, and hashbrowns. They also have Tabasco as their hot sauce.
My child got a chocolate milkshake, the Mickey Mouse Pancakes (comes with pine apple and cherries), and a side of bacon. He liked it and loved the shake.
My partner got the Caprese Omlette without bacon, hashbrowns. He liked it a lot.
The adults got hot coffee, which was nearly impossible to get a refill.
The vibe is a traditional diner, good food, fun and busy environment. Definitely recommend for a tasty breakfast.

This place had the old timer feel for sure. Our waitress says she been there 20+ years. The guy at the counter looked like he been coming there 40 years. & let’s not forget the retired Chicago police department officer who stared me down. I looked at him like he was looking at me and said “how’s it goin” x2 then he finally replied yup. I debuted yup is your awsner old man, you can take a photo if you like” he didnt but it was entertaining for me none the less. Food was great, service equally great & it is close to the spot!

food wasn’t bad, it was the original waitress i had. she made a weird comment about my age??? she most likely overheard my complaint about how i found her comment to be weird so she swapped out with another waitress. the blonde girl was not bad but not good either.
the original waitress kept looking at my table and seemed to be talking about me a lot, if you’re gonna say something, have the decency to walk to the back to talk about a customer, not a couple feet away with another waitress.
weird energy from the waitresses, it was giving peaked in high school. i would order food here to go but never eat in again for the service where i have to tip for horrible attitudes.

Been coming here for years. We had stopped for a while but I’m glad my parents brought me back. Still so good! I normally don’t like pancakes but the ones here.. they’re so moist and fluffy. Never been disappointed by the service or quality of food. Really friendly and yummy!

As a neighbor of this neighborhood and an African American who genuinely enjoys dining at this restaurant, I want to share my experience. Over the past two years, I’ve seen many African Americans come into this location, which makes me feel welcomed and represented in the community. However, as a customer, I’ve also noticed that the staff lacks diversity. I have yet to see a single hire that reflects the rich ethnicity of the community, especially African Americans.
While I appreciate the food and the overall atmosphere, I believe that increasing diversity among the staff would make the experience even more welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Representation matters, and I hope the management considers this feedback to better reflect the community they serve. I look forward to seeing more diversity on the team and continuing to support this spot as a loyal customer.

Really cool vintage vibe diner with nice music playing at the right volume.
The staff was friendly but waitress didn’t come to our table much.
I got the greek chicken. It comes with rice and pita bread. The chicken was tender and juicy but it didn’t have much flavor. The rice didn’t have much flavor either.
We also got a hamburger which was pretty good and tasty same for the fries.
We might come back to try some breakii.
