Randomly stumbled upon Chai Thai Noodle in Hayward and I am so glad we did. From the very first bite, we were completely blown away by how authentic and incredibly flavorful every single entrée was. You can truly taste the care, quality, and tradition in the food — nothing felt rushed or generic.

We’re still talking about how good the meal was and already planning our next visit because there are so many dishes we want to try. On top of the amazing food, the service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the entire experience even better.

This place is a hidden gem and easily one of the best Thai meals we’ve had in the area. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, comforting, and delicious Thai food. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been coming here for so long, but I took a huge hiatus and then returned for the last couple of years and I’m always treated with such kindness by the people that work there … They are very conscientious about really providing a great service to their customers plus their food is the bomb. Thank you guys for your awesome restaurant. I can’t wait to try more of your menu items. I’m also very happy that they offer Boba drinks and they have a great selection for lunch specials

Excellent flavors, fantastic service, and reasonable prices for the quality! Came around 5 or 6 on a Saturday and it was a great time before the dinner rush. Feels like being around family, would definitely come back!

When I order online I get the wrong fried rice but that’s not employee error because the ticket has a different item than what it shows on my phone which is weird (I get the chai thai fried rice). Other than that, this place is a favorite for my family and I, close to home, delicious Thai food my wife loves the green Thai curry. Great and helpful staff as well

Just order Pad Kee Mao to-go, huge let down!!! 4 slices of beef and two broccoli, all noodles. On top, it was so greasy. Not sure if they have new chefs and I had the unfortunate draw. Very disappointing

I looooove this place! I have been coming here once a week almost every week, because the food is just so good. The vegetarian tofu tom Kha is THE BEST! I keep trying Tom Kha in other Thai restaurants and it is never as good. Very friendly staff and there are so many other good dishes too. Highly recommend

I wasn’t going to write a review but as I’m eating this for the 4th weekend in a row I’m still amazed at how delicious it is that I felt compelled to share.
This is the best pad Thai I’ve eaten so far in Hayward. At Chai Thai Noodles It’s cooked so well it’s tastes fresh, clean and balanced. The right amount of sauce all ingredients are coated in sauce so nicely and the portion is very generous.
The place has a dive bar type of feel the parking is difficult but the food is 5 stars all the way and the staff is always smiling always present very pleasant.

In other places the pad Thai smells of too much fish sauce or it’s too greasy or flavors too muddled or too many vegetables as fillers or the wrong noodles all together but this pad Thai at Chai Thai noodles is so perfect thank you to the staff

I recently dined at this Thai restaurant and loved it! The egg rolls, mango curry, and drunken noodles were all tasty and filling with generous portions. The Thai tea wasn’t great, but it didn’t spoil the experience. Definitely worth a visit!

The food here is very sweet and very Americanized, do not recommended at all unless you really like sweet food. I ordered Pad See Mao and it is so sweet that adding two spoon of chill sauce can still not cover its sweetness. Leave this comment here also to remind myself not come here again anymore.

Updated February 2026: Chai Thai Noodles has become our go-to place for Thai and Laotian food in Hayward. It offers great happy hour pricing on beer and wine, and happy hour lasts every day until 7pm. In addition to standard Thai teas and coffees, they offer milk teas and fruit green teas.

I have been happy with most dishes I’ve had at Chai Thai Noodles, and I’ve had many! The pad kee mao is a great entrée featuring wide rice noodles. The Chai Thai noodles with ground chicken and various veggies also has a tasty sauce, as does the pad thai. I’ve also enjoyed the khaknom jin nam mgiao soup, which features pork prepared a couple different ways and pickled mustard greens in a pork-tomato broth. Very savory! Appetizers are usually satisfying as well, especially recommend the spicy lao sausage and curry puffs.

A special draw for Chai Thai Noodles is their crab fried rice, which is lighter than most, with a fresh greenness from the scallions and only a little soy sauce stirred into the eggs and rice. That’s because the cooks at Chai Thai Noodles know not to overshine that crab with too much seasoning or oil. The dish comes topped with A LOT of dungeness crab, far more than I’d expect for a $22 dish, half a cup’s worth at least. Each time it’s delivered to my table, my eyes pop out.

Lest you think I love everything Chai Thai Noodles, I did not enjoy the gai him ma parn we had recently, a spicier dish with chicken, cashews, dried whole chili, carrots, bell pepper, and onion. The sauce tasted too rich to me; having rice to go with it is essential. I’m also not a big fan of the spring rolls.

But otherwise, always happy to end up at Chai Thai Noodles.

Always hits the spot! Photo is of Rad Na, a wide rice-noodle dish that comes with Chinese broccoli and cabbage in a luscious, soothing gravy. I opted for the tofu and was quite pleased.
