The food is solid! I’m not very picky, but we’ve been twice and the food has been good. Sunday is when we went and it was busy and our server was slow getting to us, but we weren’t too bothered by it bc we saw it was busy. But if you like solid Mexican food, this is a good place for it!

Grabbed early dinner here and got service right away. Husband liked his enchilada plate. My beef fajitas were edible but not great: very oily, meat was overdone, not seasoned, and a little tough. The onions and very few peppers were just cremated to black! Server was efficient, but brusque and not friendly. Bad queso not real cheese. Good guac and plenty of salsas to keep husband happy. Nice atmosphere and clean place.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! I started with the perfect margarita and a watermelon shot, which was so delicious I had to order another one to help finish off my margarita. My server was fantastic, making the experience even better.
For my meal, I ordered the combination fajitas, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Usually, when I dine at Mexican restaurants, the beans and rice can be bland or stale, and the pico and guacamole aren’t anything special. But at this restaurant, everything they brought to the table was fresh, hot, and incredibly tasty! The flour tortillas even tasted homemade. The chips were homemade as well, so crunchy and delicious.
I’ll definitely be returning, even if it’s just for the tasty margaritas and watermelon shot!

Our first time here and the service was really good and fast and the food was fresh and hot. Really good dinner! We have enchiladas and tamales! The rice and beans were great and all serving sizes were on the larger size. The chips and salsa and queso were good too.

This portion of the review is just an update. I ordered the Carne Asada which did not look like the picture on the menu. My meat was just one long uncut slice (See pic) that was dry and seasoned with way too much salt, sodium overload! So, I had to drop the “Food” rating.

This is one of the better Mexican restaurants that I have frequented. I was surprised by how spacious the dining area is. I always judge Mexican restaurants by their chimichangas. They must have ground beef as an option, although I would prefer a veggie option, such as spinach. The shell was nice and crispy, and the inside of shell was warm. My husband had the lunch fajitas plate, which is not on the sizzling plate…they do offer that option, though. He said it was delicious. Although they were busy, service was excellent. If you pay with your credit card, you will be charged a fee. I don’t know if the fee is a percentage of the bill or a fixed fee. We weren’t aware of this until after we paid.

I’ve been going to San Marcos ever since it opened its doors and we went on opening day as well! I’ve been waiting for a good Mexican food restaurant for a while to hit this area and I’m so happy they decided to have a location here. The owner is always so friendly and seem to work everyday!! Interacting with his guests and giving away gifts on Cinco de Mayo. Loved the gift I got and still use it today. Food is phenomenal, nothing else I gotta say about it, atmosphere isn’t your tradition Mexican restaurant but I know why the owner choose the decor he did, and the representation of it is specifically for the Newcastle Racers and a mix of auto move and Mexican tradition. I will always be coming back here to eat, and the staff are so friendly I wish I could go there every day.
