Shrimp cocktail, Maryland blue crab cakes, baked scallops, mussels, cornbread shrimp fritters, creamy Cesar salad, lobster pop tart, and lobster chowder. Let me tell you, everything was wonderful. There wasn’t an item on the table we didn’t love. Our server was fantastic. She made the night perfect!
Also, peep the carrot cake… strongly recommend. The art work in the women’s washroom made my day. Iykyk

Had dinner last night with a good friend and it was above abd beyond excellent! The food was delicious and our waiter, Scott, was the best. Appetizers were the fritters and octopus, and we both had pasta dishes for the entree. In all honesty, I’m not a “pasta person” but it was probably the best I’ve ever had — cooked and seasoned perfectly. I wish we would have tried dessert, but we were stuffed! Definitely going back to Bold!! Outstanding!!

Let me start by saying this was one of the best meals of my life. We travel extensively, and we try the “finest “ establishments everywhere we go. I had short ribs that were better than most $100 steaks, anywhere. My son in law had the pot roast, it was perfect as I had to try it, and our assistant had the chorizo tortellini, again, spot on. The “flourless” chocolate cake was a whole experience in its own right. Service was spot on, drinks were perfectly potent, was a great experience in every way. We will return

Drive by this place every day, and always wanted to try it. Stopped by for lunch with my wife & grandson. Place is cozy, very warm, & cute.
Staff was fantastic & treated my 3-year old grandson like gold.
Food was excellent. Had the halibut on risotto (could have used lemon). 100% going back, if just to try the patio in the summer.
Try the crab cakes. They’re to die for.

Drinks are original and outstanding, and their Wagyu burgers are off-the-charts amazing. Service was phenomenal – honestly it was perfectly on point. Restrooms are spotless. Location is great and you have 2 parking lots to choose from. We’ll be returning here soon… And many times! Thank you to their entire staff.

Bold American Fare always hits it out of the park and is a regular go to for us. Whether we are in the mood for a high end, chef quality full course meal, or simply a top notch burger and fries, this restaurant has it all. Every Tuesday they offer 1/2 price small plate options, a tapas style meal, that allows you to sample various dishes or cater to those that may not be looking for a heavier meal. Greg and his staff are always very welcoming and personable. A cozy, historic building in downtown Algonquin adds to the atmosphere and makes for a great place to destress during the work week.

Had ALWAYS had a great experience here. Amazing food. And our Servers have been great. Apparently things have changed. Advised over the phone that reservations were not taken. Upon arriving, was advised that my bag would need to be “checked” on the other side of the restaurant due to crowding and pending reservations. RESERVATIONS? I was told they did not take them. And any woman typically has valuables in her bag. Makes no sense. This is not late check in at United. BAD taste in my mouth. Such a shame.

My wife and I went there for the first time because our son gave us a gift certificate. We went around 3:30 pm. It was outstanding! The service, the food, the atmosphere. We each had the small plates, total of 6 different plates. If you haven’t been there you do not know what you’re missing. We found out! Wish we went there sooner. We diffinetly will be returning. Unbelievable fantastic AAA+ Place.

Decided to try Bold again after a not so great experience last time. Well I’m happy to say they’re back to making good drinks & food was great too!
I’ve been here several times & always had fantastic cocktails & great food/atmosphere. Last nite I brought two friends with after telling them how cool the place was & how good their drinks are. They only had a 6:45 pm reservation open so I took it. Arrived early at 6:00 figuring enjoy a drink at the bar. The place was dead! No music or anything, odd, just a family finishing their dinner. Why no earlier reservations available? Weird. They sat us immediately. I asked the waitress why no music, she said it’s on. I looked at her like huh? 5 minutes later the music turned on. Again weird. Next All 3 of us got our drinks & they were terrible! I asked the waitress why & she said “shouldn’t be, we all follow the same recipe”…I realized right then, the regular bartenders were not there, & she likely made the drinks. Very disappointing. She offered to make something different, but it clearly woulda been someone who’s not a bartender making another bad drink. So no ty. She didn’t offer to comp the drinks either, she def should have. On the bright side, the food was good. So the place went from a no brainer to a hesitation when deciding to go back again.

Stopped in at 4:30 on Valentine’s Day as a single girl just wanted to put in an order to go and grab a drink… even though the bar was empty minus a couple of seats I was told it would be a two hour wait because of reservations.. I reassured them I was just trying to get an order to go and a drink while I wait. But he said he had no room for me at his currently empty bar… what a way to run a restaurant

You’re sorry I was triggered… what an abysmal thing to say as an owner of a public establishment. I have been in the restaurant industry my entire life and there was absolutely no reason you couldn’t let me get a meal to go… at 4:30 in the afternoon when your restaurant was still half empty.
Not holding a single seat for walk-ins/togos isn’t professional.. And how you handled it sir was not professional.
You acted how you did. And I reported my experience… as is my right.
