I really wanted to like this place, but it was a bit of a mixed bag. The wait for food was about 20 minutes, which felt long, though they did offer a free drink to make up for it, which was nice. The food itself was OK. I ordered the half & half and chose barbecue beef and katsu chicken. The beef had good flavor but was pretty chewy, and the macaroni salad and rice were bland. On the plus side, the chicken was really good. Portions were generous, but at $16.95 it still felt a little pricey. The service was the highlight, though, and why I really wanted to give it 5 stars. I don’t care what the woman at the register is getting paid – she deserves more! She was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful with recommendations. The best part of stopping by for sure. The restaurant itself was clean, bright and had a good vibe. Overall, not bad, but there’s room for improvement. Not sure if I’ll be back or not.

I just ate at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue and I’m still thinking about it. From the moment I walked in, it was an unreal experience. The service was absolutely top tier — everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely nice. The place looked awesome too, super well decorated with a great vibe.
But the FOOD… next level. I got the BBQ chicken plate and I’m not kidding when I say it might be the best BBQ chicken I’ve ever had in my entire life. It was insanely flavorful, perfectly cooked, and every bite was ridiculous. The rice was cooked perfectly and the macaroni salad was so good I could’ve eaten a whole container of it by itself.
And the portion size?? Massive. They do NOT play around. I was shocked at how much food I got — easily worth every dollar and then some.
Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had. I can’t wait to go back.

Love the food. This is my new favorite restaurant. Good food and staff is amazing. I got the garlic shrimp my all time favorite and the garlic chicken which is now my new favorite. I also tried the passion drink and it was good as well. Everything taste great and portions are good size.

This was my second visit to L&L. A few weeks ago, I had stumbled upon them by chance. The owner and staff, particularly the young lady at the counter (I can’t recall her name, but she’s incredibly sweet and remembers me every time I come in!), were incredibly friendly and helpful. Since I’ve been to Hawaii before, whenever I see Hawaiian food with positive reviews, I have to try it. And boy, was I in for a delightful surprise! Everything is freshly made and tastes just like you’re on the Big Island. The loco moco is flavorful, the garlic chicken has become one of my favorite dishes, and the katsu chicken is crispy and flavorful. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I can’t wait to return! Mahalo!

Probably one of the best little restaurants I’ve went to in a long time. The atmosphere is clean and the staff is so friendly, it’s exactly the kind of restaurant you want to eat at. I tried spam musubi for the first time and loved it as well as their drinks. We met the owner and his son, they are truly some of the kindest people you will ever meet, the kind of people you hope to see succeed. I live over three hours away, and it would be worth the drive to Dacula only for L&L.

We ordered two dishes—my husband got the curry chicken, and I went with the seafood combo. And WOW, everything was so delicious! My saliva was working overtime when I was ordering.
The curry chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of rich, fragrant curry flavor. It looked simple at first, but ended up being super addictive—I couldn’t stop stealing bites from my husband’s plate
My seafood combo was amazing too! It was so good, I even forgot to take any photos before digging in! The shrimp were super fresh and bouncy, and the fish was so tender. The BBQ chicken was packed with flavor, and the portion was huge—I even brought the rest home and enjoyed it the next day!
The place was spotless, and both the owner and staff were super friendly and attentive. You can tell they really care.

I’m so excited to have a L&L close to my house. I used to live out west and loved this chain. When I moved to Georgia I was so sad to realize there were no good Hawaiian BBQ fast casual places. That’s changed over the last few years but to finally have one close is so wonderful.
To add to it the people working here are absolutely lovely. Friendly. Informative. And excited to be here. I even received a hug in appreciation of coming in from who I believe is one of the owners, or a family member of the owner.
And as I remember, the food is wonderful. The meats are tender and flavorful. And the Hawaiian pasta salad is a great treat.
I hope this place is successful! I know I will be coming here often when I want to get something to go!

I had a high expectation for a place like this, but I was disappointed since the chicken wasn’t grilled.. It felt more like the chicken was sitting in some teriyaki and soy sauce water and that was it… rice and macaroni lacked salt & flavor. And they close early at 8pm on a Saturday. Friendly staff.

IPDATE; Sadly, I have to amend my review. A few days ago, my husband ordered the BBQ Chicken Bowls, again, for the second time. They were not good this time around. WAY TOO SALTY! The first time, the chicken was on a bed of white rice. This time, there was so much sauce that the rice was completely saturated and brown. We both didn’t care for it, at all. The sodium content must have been off the charts!
My husband picked up BBQ Chicken Bowls for us for dinner last night. He said the ordering process was a bit disconnected. However, the bowls were fantastic! Fresh and flavorful! Great value! We will be back!
