We stopped by Salt & Pepper Family Restaurant with the family for a casual meal, and it really felt like one of those classic neighborhood spots you’re glad still exists. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with TVs around the room playing sports and a steady buzz of regulars coming in. It’s not fancy at all, but comfortable and easygoing, which makes it a great place to bring kids or meet up with family without feeling rushed.
I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs, and it hit the spot. The portion was generous, the steak was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and it felt like a solid, old-school diner breakfast. We also had pancakes and an omelette at the table, and everything came out hot and filling. This is the kind of place where the food is straightforward, familiar, and satisfying—nothing overcomplicated, just done right.
Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. Our server checked in often and made sure everyone had what they needed, which made the experience even better. Overall, Salt & Pepper is a dependable family restaurant with good prices, hearty portions, and a comfortable vibe. It’s an easy choice when you want a relaxed meal that everyone can enjoy.

Ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. I had it once before and it was great this time. It had no gravy and I got it to go.

Even though I don’t reside in Southern California, whenever I visit, I always make sure to stop by this breakfast spot that consistently delivers excellent service and delicious food. I typically choose to sit across from the bar in the dining area so I can keep an eye on the screens, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I highly suggest this place for breakfast, as they also offer a patio and unique dessert options.

This was a hidden gem.
They had a lot of TVs and 3 projectors. This would be a perfect spot for dodgers playoffs and Sunday football games.
They serve typical diner style breakfast, lunch and dinner + Mexican food.

Mediocre food (picture shown). Came here for the high review. Turns out the only thing great is the cheap price. Greeted with rudeness by the waitress. Messed up our order in the beginning. Then, when my mate asked for hot coffee to be refilled. She bluntly announced to the restaurant “I was going to refill your coffee, but I can’t, because you are sharing”. From the start to the end of the dining session, I did not even touch my friend’s coffee cup once. Zero star for the service. Be aware to be accused like a criminal when you dine here. I am not sure if racial discrimination plays into a factor as her unacceptable behavior

Waited an hour for the food, with no other people in the booths or counter. Ordered the fried chicken dinner~ the chicken was burnt, the vegetables were so over cooked, they were mushy. Also ordered a ham & cheese omelet~ the hash browns were cold, burnt and flat, not fresh at all ! the omelet was more scrambled than an omelet. The fettuccini was a very small portion, with more sauce than pasta, and one small garlic bread cut into four small slices. Terrible food and way overpriced. The only redeeming quality was the server Sergio.
