We came for the Sunday buffet. 11a-3p. $14 for cash, $15 for card. No extra, no tax, just flat money dollars.

We drove 45 miles from Plainfield. Nearly an hour to get here.

Simply put, We’re Coming Back. That whole buffet? Amazing from one end to the other. Marked spicy? It has some kick and leaves some heat in your mouth. Goat curry? Falls off the bone. Vegetable pakora? Looks the tiniest bit burnt but Isn’t and is crunchy and amazing. Mango Lassi and Chai Tea included in the Sunday buffet price. Various chutneys and desserts including a rice pudding my wife said was easily the best she’s ever had.

There is only one negative about this trip. The dining area probably only holds about 35-40 people.

Just, totally amazing. The paneer was beautiful and luxurious. Just. Go.

The buffet was a true feast —everything was fresh, full of flavor, and impossible to choose just one favorite. I definitely went back for seconds (and maybe even thirds).

I was surprised, Even with the big crowd, the atmosphere was amazing—people laughing, enjoying their meals, and the staff handling everything like pros while still greeting guests with warm smiles.

It wasn’t just a reopening—it felt like reconnecting with an old friend you’ve truly missed. Welcome back, Taste of India… better than ever! ❤️

Tried the lunch buffet. Good variety of food on offer, including curries, pakoras, rice, naan, salad, and dessert. There were some meat options but more than half of the buffet items were vegetarian.
Overall I thought the food was pretty good. Everything tasted pretty fresh, but I did visit not long after opening. It wasn’t the most “authentic” Indian food I’ve tried, but it was in the ballpark of basically tasting like Indian food, which is all I ask for in Bloomington. Not overly oily/buttery like a lot of restaurant-style Indian, which was nice. The spice level of everything was pretty mild but not completely devoid of spice. I thought the veg pakora and mint chutney, mattar mushroom, and aloo bean masala were the best items at the buffet (I think the aloo bean masala was the spiciest, not that it was super hot). The saag paneer tasted like creamed spinach (like the American dish) which wasn’t bad but not what I expected. The savoury food stood out more than the desserts. Of the three desserts on offer – kheer/rice pudding, seviyan/sweet vermicelli, and mango fruit custard – seviyan was fine, the kheer was a little runny but passable, but the mango fruit custard tasted like canned fruit cocktail in mango milk. Not unpleasant but I don’t know if I’d get it again.
The $14 cash/$15 card price is pretty good – it’s cheaper to get the buffet than to buy a curry + rice/bread from the a la carte menu. I haven’t eaten from the a la carte menu here yet so I don’t have a basis for comparison, but I didn’t feel like I was getting sub-optimal buffet food (but again, I visited early).
Service is pretty hands-off for the buffet. A host took me to my seat and then I was mostly left alone while I ate, and I went to the register to pay, but the staff were very polite in my limited interactions with them, and they made rounds often to refill water and take away plates.
The restaurant, including the bathroom, was clean and modern. They had one low table with couches in the corner for a large group that looked cool, otherwise it’s standard booths and tables. Lots of outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and they sometimes leave it open in the rain as long as the conditions aren’t too bad.

Read the reviews carefully. Every NON-south Asian person left negative reviews, with some even claiming “not as authentic”…. But the actual desi community likes this place. Who do you believe?

That should give you a ballpark of how good the restaurant is—consistent, good buffet, nice staff. Never had a problem. Great place, I always return for the Lamb Angara and garlic naan.

First time there .. they have a buffet available or can order from menu. I chose the buffet and there was a large variety of Indian dishes . Liked that the labels said if it was spicy. Especially enjoyed their pita bread with a buttery taste and the rice pudding was excellent for dessert. Also available is a very good mango/ yogurt smoothie . My husband enjoys very spicy and liked that there were jalapeños on the buffet. Only reason a 4 for the atmosphere was because it’s tiny in the inside and tables are very close and crowded together. It is a popular spot.

I visited this Indian restaurant with my family, and it was a wonderful experience. Parking was convenient with a good spot right in front. The entrance, with its stairs and lovely design, was quite inviting. We were warmly welcomed and guided to a clean table, and the pleasant aroma of Indian spices filled the air as we entered.

Although there was some misunderstanding in our order, the staff kindly corrected it promptly, ensuring everything was just as we requested. They were attentive throughout our meal, making sure we had everything we needed without delay. We asked for non-spicy dishes, and they catered to our request perfectly, delivering flavorful and delicious Indian food.

The friendly and helpful staff, combined with the authentic Indian atmosphere, made the evening truly enjoyable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delightful Indian dining experience!

Have visited twice, great buffet. We were seated, served water, server picked up plates once. The food is really good, some items on the buffet were better than others. Butter chicken and mixed vegetables were excellent. It’s a great way to try different varieties of Indian cuisine. Lots of vegetarian options.

My favorite restaurant in Bloomington and possibly all of Indiana. Everything has so much flavor and you can’t go wrong with any meal. The butter chicken is fantastic as well as the lamb korma which are my usual go tos. The lamb is super tender and I highly recommend trying it over the chicken. Excellent naan and the best chutneys I’ve ever had. I could eat their tamarind and the onion chutney on anything!

Such a reliable dining experience. The lunch buffet is awesome (lots of variety and differs from time to time). We mainly order take out and it’s always ready promptly and so fresh and delicious. Favorites are: Lamb Biryani, Malai Kofta, Butter Chicken, and Naan. The outdoor seating is also nice and comfortable. Sometimes free parking runs out, but not usually.
