This has been my go-to restaurant for many years. I love the Cadillac margaritas and the chicken fajitas. The bacon wrap shrimp is so tasty, and the fresh homemade flour tortillas are against-the-law good.

The tamale was AMAZING!! 5 stars for the pork tamale!!
The reason for the 4 star review was for the chile Verde burrito…the amount of onion in the burrito was WAAAAYYYY to much. Or I got the entire onion that the chile Verde was cooked with in that burrito..It was excessive…
Staff was nice, they have a small bar, and about 7 tvs around the place.
I’ll go back again of I’m in Gridley.

Never wrote a review and this one is not good. Had dinner tonight with my girl at this restaurant. She has been to this (these) restaurant many times over the past 40+years. We had mixed fajitas (steak chic). We asked for additional plates and were told that would be an extra $4 charge for splitting the meal. Note there was only one plate that the meal came on. Nothing extra to make the fajita on. (This was a first to me. And I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants). With our meal we noticed there wasn’t much beans with the fajita plate and asked for a little more. But that’s an extra charge of $4 for a “kids” size. We did not opt for the ($4 extra) plates or the ($4 beans). The fajitas were barely OK. They were served pretty quick and were on the warmer side. But when it comes to fajitas you want it “sizzling” and it was definitely not sizzling. There were nil for veggies. Didn’t compare to anything “good” that I’ve had in the past. Overall I know I will not be going back to this establishment ever again. The cost of getting an extra plate. Sorry you just lost me business. Hope others have a better experience.

Most awkward service ever. They no idea what they are doing here service wise. No smiles when we came in, no “welcome to casa lupe” kind of felt like everyone was pretending to be servers.
Both our drinks were wrong. The salsa had taco seasoning in it. Did not look fresh at all. The chips were ok. The food came and my fajita super burrito was pretty good. My rice and beans on the side were ok. (+1 for the burrito)
So two stars for no “two minute check”, lacking service and wrong drinks. Place was impersonal even though we were both friendly. Drinks were also in the wrong glasses and we had this in a jalepeno…
Food was way over priced for the atmosphere and over all effort from the business. What servers just turn their back on you ask your asking them questions so I think I’m being pretty nice here.

The food was great but survive was lacking.. the server was working her self but the long wate for it was annoying.. I can understand the slow and hot periods of running a restraint but when it is happy hour and drinks are cheaper and nobody is wating on you ?????

I recently had to do business in Gridley contrary to our better judgment we came in with the hopes of improvement, My al pastor Tacos were again cold No Salsa Again, the limes were so dry and old, my Husband order Chile con carne this was a tri tip very tuff with some type of red Salsa, Again it was embarrassing even getting their Salsa with Celery in it and Tapatio sauce I’m curious why they put Celery and Tapatio Sauce in the Salsa is horrible, very sad they have great ambiance and service is great but food is getting worse. I rather get something from the Market next door. this is the last time we ever come here.

This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant we have been to thus far. We ordered a plate of “carne con camaron” and a combo plate of burrito and chili relleno. The steak was medium well done and the shrimps were extra crispy. They were delicious or so I was told. The chili relleno was soft and tender, with just the right amount of cheese, but the chicken burrito was really salty. At least the tortilla chips were freshly made, so they were good.
