Very good food, very nice service, good music, good atmosphere. Portions were absolutely huge. Even after not eating the entire day I couldn’t finish everything.
The ribs and the thin fries were excellent and so was the sauce (which I think was home made).

Food was very low quality. The burger was the same as if taken out from the freezer. I paid €8 for a 1L bottle of water! I have no problem spending money for good restaurants, but I do expect it to reach a better standard.

You go to De Molen if you have a craving for meat and the restaurant definitely delivers! If I could, I would deduct half a point because the filet pur I ordered was not cooked right. I ordered “saignant” (rare), but the piece was “à point” (medium) edging on “bien cuit” (well done). Maybe because the piece of meat was a thinner cut? Still, that shouldn’t be an excuse. Anyhow, all other steaks were cooked to perfection, the sauces were excellent, and so were the fries. For dessert, we shared a “dame blanche” between two people, which still was a lot! Good service and nice atmosphere.

I was positively surprised with the quality (had some less experience before but taught give it another chance). So much conclude this time it is a very good steak restaurant (delicious meat) although the cooking wise could still be improved (typical too far cooked), good service but quite pricey. Due to its success, you are also quite packed together and noisy downstairs, more relaxing upstairs. Tip: Molengras fries
