Always a fun to place to go with board game decorations. Too bad the coffee is more water than coffee. The corned beef hash was more hash a bit of corned beef. 🙁 My husband’s mushroom and cheese omelette was excellent. Super friendly and helpful staff!

The Food:

We ordered the chocolate chip banana speciality hotcakes, croissant french toast and the potatoes with eggs.
I personally ate the chocolate chip banana speciality hotcakes and the potatoes, and both were exceptionally good – like, come here just to order these things every other day kind of good. The pancakes I believe are flapjacks with perfectly crisp edges and a delicious buttery taste. Every bite felt well portioned, there was never too much or too little of the filling (never too much chocolate or banana). The potatoes were so good they made me rethink the power of such a simple ingredient. They were wonderfully crisp, NOT burnt, and were very well seasoned.

The Service:

We were seated promptly after entering, and immediately our very nice server came to ask if we wanted something to drink. We took about 7-10 minutes to decide what we wanted. She came around once within that time frame and then again at the end of it to take our order, and was very patient with our questions about the options. She was kind in sharing what her recommendations were, and redirected us to more cost effective pairings when we asked for multiple things that could be grouped together. Our food came quickly and it was just as we asked for. I also liked her socks (Lol!) they had a cool design! She came by briefly during our meal to refill our water and ask how we were getting along. Very nice, respectful of our space, and resourceful.

The Atmosphere:

I didn’t notice this until sitting down but all of the walls are lined with vintage board games! It was a great way to pass time. The tables are pretty close to each other so beware of the fact that you might hear the conversation of the person next to you but I didn’t find it difficult to disregard. It had a nice diner feel.

Overall, much enjoyed. Will be back.

Husband went here during undergrad, and so we hit it up for breakfast. Had the chorizo and eggs, it wasn’t bad. Real star of the dish was the Lyonnaise potatoes, softer than your average home fries but tastier I feel. The decor was cute, and it’s bright and adorable inside. Good place for breakfast.

Great diner with kind servers and classic dishes. The pancakes are fun in that they’re cooked like crepes yet still use pancake batter. Prices are super reasonable too.

I’ll be back

I am usually not the one for breakfast, but I had a really early class and I was extremely hungry, so I decided to come here. of course, this is a famed spot in pittsburgh, but unfortunately, I never got around to trying it. I got the hot cakes which they are known for with some eggs, sausage and bacon. Hot cakes are a baby of crepes and pancakes if I had to describe it. my friend got the chorizo hash with some eggs and toast. Honestly, everything tasted really good. The food itself is quite simple, but it is done well. My eggs were running as I liked them, and the hot cakes were pretty tasty as well. Also, the quantity of food and portion sizes are quite big. We were struggling to finish our meals. The ambience is that of a diner and even on weekdays, if you go during prime breakfast time, expect to have a wait time. If you’re looking for hearty rustic breakfast, I would definitely recommend this place, but don’t expect anything gourmet or very nuanced flavours. The wait staff were attentive to our needs and provided good service.

Excellent, filling breakfast of strawberry-filled pancakes and chorizo sausage. This busy restaurant is obviously an area favorite as customers were waiting for a spot as early as 9 on the Saturday morning we ate there.

Good portions, tasty food. Breakfast for two with a side and a cup of coffee was $35. Worth it because there was no way we were eating lunch after our meal.

Wait staff was efficient and friendly. They were quick with orders.

Would go again.

I recently had breakfast at a cozy spot in Pittsburgh and tried their baked French toast topped with walnuts, berries, and chocolate chips. It was amazing—perfectly soft on the inside with a slight crunch from the walnuts, and the combination of fresh berries and melted chocolate chips added just the right amount of sweetness. The friendly atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even better.

Packed to the heckin’ gills, but iconic. Worth the wait. Food and service are excellent. It’s not the one in the Strip, sure, but each Pam’s location has their own sort of unique charm tied together

Some say Pamela’s is overrated, but I absolutely love their Lyonnaise potatoes — they’re always seasoned perfectly. I think everything on the menu is delicious! I usually go for the mushroom omelet, while my fiancé loves the three-cheese omelet. We always share the hotcakes, and sometimes I get the turkey sausage on the side — it’s so tasty with the right seasoning. Everyone should try Pamela’s at least once!
