Based on the rating and reviews, my daughter and I were excited to try out Village Grill for breakfast. We were there this last Wednesday morning around 9-9:30 a.m. and we had no trouble parking in their parking lot, there was several spaces open.
Our first impression of the atmosphere was great! Very spacious, clean and had a combination of booth, table and counter seating. Cute decorations for Autumn We were seated fairly quickly and there was still a $5 tip on the table that had not been collected yet. When our waitress came to take our order, I pointed out the tip left on the table and she acted frustrated and said “I don’t know who’s this is but I guess I’ll move it over here” and placed it on an empty table. She made us feel like she really didn’t want to be there.
We waited awhile for our meal to arrive and normally we don’t mind but it seemed odd considering they were not busy. When we did get our breakfast, we went from excited to disappointed. My pancakes were dark! They were obviously overcooked and just crumbled when I cut into them with my fork. I took a few bites and just couldn’t eat anymore. My daughter got the western omelette. She said the omelette was okay but felt like the ham was just cut up deli meat you buy in a package from the grocery store. Her hash browns were cold. She ate a few bites and was ready to leave.
When we went to pay the bill the cashier asked how it was, and I did let her know that it was not good. She apologized and I paid the bill. Maybe this was not how they normally prepare their food but unfortunately when we went, they dropped the ball. We will not be returning.

I’ve only been here once but I really enjoyed the food a lot, speficially the fried pickle spears! I’ve been trying all of the spots in town since moving almost 3 months ago and this is one of my top 3 so far. I’ll be back soon for another round of yummy food 🙂

Coming back thru Lexington kinda late looking for bbq place to try but most closed at 8pm so went did google search and seen village grill. They literally have everything on menu. We each got variety from vegetable plate , chicken dumplings, flounder , wings to spaghetti plates. Took little while to prepare but I understand why with the variety. There was seven of us but all was pleased with what they got. That’s rare to please all. I would

Great good Great service.. AC going on a hot day so it felt great. Everyone’s food was really delicious. Our server was so nice and gave great service. She kept drinks full. $72 for 5 people. Cheese steak sub, chicken souvlaki, fish, hotdogs, and chicken tenders were all cooked perfect. Bathroom was very clean.

I used to eat at the Village Grill 10+ years ago when I lived in Davidson. We revisited Lexington today and decided to eat breakfast there and it was everything I remember and expected. Please keep up the good food and atmosphere. Enjoyed everything and will come back when in “towns”. Loved waffles and all the good stuff accompanied it

Such a disappointing experience. Have gotten take out before and food was amazing. Made the mistake of dining in tonight and I will never be back. Got there around 750 ordered food and received it around 820, food was brought out cold so I requested hot food no big deal. Then while eating the waitress thought it was a great idea to start running the vaccum cleaner right next to our table when it was still 30 minutes until closing. Not only is this rude it is UNSANITARY spreading dust and dirt into the air over food and drink. I asked another waitress if this was normal and she responded with ” yes when it’s this close to closing” . Its just appalling that this is acceptable service to customers.

This place is the best in the area if you want cheap, delicious, fresh food! The workers are great and the atmosphere is just beautifully clean! They are fast to take service and serve the food, they also have good cooks on point! We come here every year for the barbecue fist.

Hadn’t been for several years, then met a friend for lunch. I had the Greek salad with grilled chicken, it was good. Went back for dinner the following week. The chicken livers were good. Will definitely put back on our list.
