The food was good with large servings.
It was worth it to get out of the highway
The menu offered a bounty of choices: fried, dry batter fried, or baked fish. I, in my wisdom, chose the traditional fried fish. For sides, I faced a noble decision between green beans and corn, and I did adapt for the corn. The potato selection was vast—traditional, French fries, mashed potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, a baked potato, and hashbrowns. I opted for mashed potatoes, sans gravy.
The meal arrived with two generous cups of tartar sauce, a hearty bread roll, and a Sirvan of coleslaw. Upon opening the tray, the fish appeared plentiful and golden, a sight to behold! The scoop of mashed potatoes and serving of corn looked promising, though the potatoes, alas, were a tad grainy and not stellar. The coleslaw, however, was a triumph—delicious and near perfect, a true highlight of the meal.
The restaurant also offers an all-you-can-eat fish option for those dining in, but the portion provided in my takeaway was more than sufficient. I shall return, though next time I may venture to try a different potato option.
And let us not forget the pies, good people! Lakeside Inn offers a delightful array of flavors to tempt thy sweet tooth. On this visit, I procured a slice of lemon meringue, my lifelong favorite pie, as well as a slice of Keylime meringue, my close second favorite. Though too full to indulge just yet, I can attest from past enjoyment that they will surely be delicious.
So, let it be known: Lakeside Inn Restaurant delivers a satisfying Lenten feast, with friendly options and generous portions, and their pies are a crowning glory. Huzzah! ️
