Excellent food and experience – my favorite pizza in the world.
I met a buddy for lunch today and decided to order something different since we ate pizza on Saturday. I went with the cheese & steak sandwich thinking it would be like a Philly cheesesteak but it wasn’t. It seemed to be more of a patty vs shaved steak so I asked our server about and the fun began. The GM (Matt) came by and we ended up having a great conversation about many things and he insisted I try their new burger while I insisted I was fine with what I got but wanted to make sure I hadn’t misread the menu. Long story short – it’s not shaved steak and the new burger was delicious.
I truly appreciate Matt taking the time to come by and chat. I had no intention of sending anything back or complaining so he took and okay situation and turned it into a fantastic experience. Thanks!!

I originally posted a 1-star review detailing a frustrating experience where my Holy Shiitake pizza was delivered without the crucial garlic aoli drizzle. This required me to drive back to the store and the staff at the counter was unhelpful and offered no apology or compensation, leaving my entire $50 order to get cold.
The store owner, Matt, personally called me to address the issue. I was extremely impressed by his approach.
He was highly professional, taking full accountability for the mistakes made by the kitchen and the counter staff. He went above and beyond to make things right– made me feel completely heard and understood with my experience.
The owner’s swift action, accountability, and generosity completely turned this experience around. Mellow Mushroom pizza is my most favorite but the way management handled this situation—making me feel like a valued customer—is what matters most. I am now completely happy with the resolution and confident in this location’s commitment to service.
Mistakes happen but great management corrects them. This owner did a fantastic job of service recovery. I highly recommend Mellow Mushroom based on this outstanding resolution and delicious food. Thank you, Matt!!!

I’ve loved Mellow Mushroom for years and it’s hands down my all-time favorite pizza spot, but the Mellow Mushroom Sandy Springs location truly stands out above the rest.
One thing I really appreciate is the consistency and care in how the pizza is made here. At some locations, the crust can be overly wide with sparse toppings, or the slices are too unevenly cut. That’s not the case at this location. When you open the pizza box, everything looks beautifully made and thoughtfully presented and that satisfaction absolutely carries through to the taste.
There’s something special about their dough here too: perfectly chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside, with a rich, deep flavor that just feels right. My go-to pizzas are the Super Pepp and Holy Shiitake, and they never disappoint. They also offer plenty of great options for vegetarians, which is a big plus.
And definitely don’t miss their new Mellow Rollz—especially with the garlic sauce. Fresh mozzarella tucked inside, finished with hot honey… it’s unlike anything I’ve had anywhere else.
Highly, highly recommended.

Taylor was my server. I generally take out, but chose to dine in on Saturday. I’m a slow eater, was not hurried along or anything. Taylor was attentive & I had no wait for a drink, refill & my order was received in a timely manner. Eric (sp?) was thoughtful & greeted me warmly. I frequently visit this establishment semi-regularly & have gotten to know many of the servers, cooks & additional staff. I am fine with anyone servicing me – the staff seems like it’s a fun place to work (outwardly anyway – I know it’s still work). Food is top notch with a variety of options to select from. Cloud 9 wings are the bom – Pizza is one of the best pizza’s in all of Atlanta (imo) & I’m looking forward to trying the ‘delicious looking’ smash burger. I have never had anything off the menu that I thought was lack-luster… I’d rate every item, every time… The highest quality & flavourful. Atmosphere is stellar (tv if you’re a sports fan, music if that’s your thing) & all at exceptable levels to talk & hold conversations without having to yell. I’ll be back (soon)! Yum

The food, dining, atmosphere and staff are great. The owner Matt makes you feel at home. Probably the cleanest Mellow Mushroom I’ve ever been to. Great neighborhood pizza spot in Sandy Springs. We have to keep business owners like this in town. Check them out.

My wife had placed an online order and accidentally selected cheese when she meant to order a pesto base. When I arrived to pick it up, the manager could immediately tell I was stressed while I was on the phone with her, trying to sort it out. Without hesitation, he was incredibly kind and told us they would remake the pizza—no charge at all.
We grabbed seats at the bar, and they quickly made a fresh pizza exactly the way my wife wanted it. No attitude, no awkwardness—just genuine care and top-notch service.
Moments like this are why we keep coming back. Great food is expected, but service like this is what sets a place apart. Huge thanks to the Sandy Springs team for going above and beyond!

Today I got a whole pizza to take out and while eating it at home, I chewed on a hard piece of foreign material in my mouth. It turned out to be a shard of foil packaging. It was gross and I could’ve swallowed it and got hurt.

I’ve been eating at mellow mushroom restaurants for 20+ years and they remain my favorite pizza chain in the Southeast. The crust and toppings are great, I like the fact that they have craft beer on tap and the restaurants themselves, like this one in Sandy Springs are typically friendly with good size booths and a nice outdoor patio. Always kids friendly too.

We had build your own pizza. We got four toppings on a large pizza. Mushrooms,pepperoni,Italian sausage with fresh basil. A coke and a ginger ale. Our waitress was very polite and provided great service. The pizza was good but I like more red sauce. Price to me was expensive. Costco has a large pepperoni for $10 and this with three extra came to $35.00 plus tip $43.77 with tip. Met family there nice atmosphere but not worth the price.
