A hidden jewel. The service, friendliness, each time it’s clean, the food is seasoned sooooooo good!!!!!!! I love this place Pantry #8 on Gate City blvd. My son get a chicken sandwich combo and an extra chicken sandwich on the side. The chicken livers are amazing . The chicken itself phenomenal, fried okra oooommmmggggg mouth watering!! My fab-fav chicken place.

Best fried chicken in the area, I ordered a 3 piece drumsticks. The chicken has some size to it at all. I added a side which was coleslaw which rich creamy and tasty definitely recommended it, Okra as well was fried well and seasoned. The chicken was seasoned in every bite I was impressed not greasy like the others. Whenever I’m craving fried chicken I will be back. Would like to try the wings, tenders and maybe fish.

We got there right in time after me was such a long line. I never been before recommended from a friend, also if the local Hispanic tradesman is stopping here for lunch I’m all for it. Fried chicken. Spot is fire and cheap. They have dine in but we just ate in the car and either way the food was fresh and delicious.

First timer at Pantry Fried Chicken. The service was great, we got there when it was a little busy. I ordered a fried chicken breast combo, which included a dinner roll, Texas fries and a drink. I wasn’t sure it would be enough so I also got a jumbo leg. I gotta say, i should have just gotten the leg. It was huge. I’ve never seen a chicken leg so big. That plus the large portion of Texas fries was more than I could eat. The fried chicken was excellent. It had a great flavor. We’ll definitely return. Maybe give the fried fish sandwich a try.

The food is grade A, old fashioned southern cooking, there’s not too many places still making it like this anymore. The guys behind the counter were super nice. I ordered the double fish fillet combo with potato wedges and a side order of friend okra, and they did not disappoint. They use the same seasonings on everything, and it is a great seasoning to use. The fish was fresh and fried to perfection, they give you a HEAPING amount of potatoes (their fry seasoning is good), and the okra was phenomenal, it wasn’t slimy at all.
The guy ordering behind me ordered chicken gizzards and liver, and a whole lot of other great stuff. I will be coming back, I will be trying more of their huge menu, and I will be recommending this to all of my friends and family.
I gave them a 4/5 on the atmosphere, the building is old, which has nothing to do with the current business, the food, or the staff. The building actually looks amazing compared to how it used to look before this restaurant took over.

The customer service is great. The food is hot and fresh. The prices are good. I think they should do better on the wings…counting wingettes as full pieces of chicken. Do better. It’s good but that’s a rip off. I will try fried pork chop next time or the fish.

Very friendly service,good atmosphere and the fried chicken (ordered a dark meat and a white meat combo with some delicious okra and collard greens) which was seasoned perfectly!
We will definitely be coming back for some of the best food!!
Gotta try the chicken sandwich next time!

It was a busy Sunday afternoon after church, which I acknowledge and respect that it’s a busy time, but why not also provide customer service? It was obviously missing. The guy taking orders had no personality, not even a hello or smile. And after we got our chicken, it was okay. I’ve definitely had better tasting fried chicken.

I just tried this place for the first time last night and I’m already hooked. It’s beyond just good food, it is a genuine experience too and that is hard to find these days. The window-style service creates such a fast-paced, efficient way to order. All food is fresh as can be and constantly being pulled from the frier. Each employee works so thoroughly for each order making sure every sauce is included, things are boxed right, and things aren’t missed. It’s quick, simple, and you’re heard! It’s the perfect cozy choice for some high quality chicken! Thank you every time!
