an absolute gem. The food is fantastic across the board, but what really stood out was the kindness of the staff. When my daughter asked for a crepe — they made one from scratch just for her! It was amazing.

That kind of care and hospitality is rare and meant so much to us. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the food itself was excellent. We left feeling well-fed and genuinely cared for. Can’t recommend ROAM enough.

We visited Grand Rapids over the weekend and found this great restaurant. From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left we had a great experience. The food was amazing. My entire family enjoyed every bite. I will be back in a couple of months to discover what’s new on the menu since per the server they refresh it with new dishes.

Fantastic food menu & drinks. The concept is fresh – street food around the world. It rotates, so ask your server what’s new / testing – there may be items not listed but available from the kitchen.

The jian bing was top notch (be sure to ask for extra crisp). Will be back to try more for this menu – very fun & tasty!

I love ROAM. I can’t believe it took me this long to write a review. This is such a unique place. If you like trying new things or new spins on classics, you’ll love ROAM. The drinks are always so good and service is even better. Last time I went I got the crab Rangoon dip and it was phenomenal and I’m not even a fan of goat cheese, but it just worked!

Selena was very personable and helped us pick the perfect item. They have a VERY detailed chart regarding allergens in the items and how dishes can be modified. This is the most helpful restaurant for allergies. We had Jian Bing and it was FABULOUS! So flavorful, unique, and just the right amount of spice with the chili oil on the side.

UPDATE on 12/3/26
Another year, another great experience! As tradition dictates, I came for lunch and dinner on both days of the Convention .
The Singapore Curry, Spicy Pumpkin Soup, the Antichucho Skewers, Rangoon Dip, Kati Roll, and finally on the last visit, they had the Gumbo and the chef’s delicious Eggnog Crepes.
I also really enjoyed the El Charro mezcal drink.
Can’t wait for next year!

DIVINE! And yes, I meant to do that on all caps.
Do yourself a favor and stop in if you can.

I’m only in town once a year for a conference, but if they’re open, I’ll only eat here. It’s the most delicious international street food outside the actual street where it comes from.

This review is very long overdue as I’ve been here for lunch and dinner probably a dozen times now, but I guess I can just combine all my experiences into one. This time, I had the poke bowl (salmon, tuna was 86) for lunch, and for dinner, the spicy Thai soup, kapusta burger, and elephant’s ear for dessert. Their stout was also very good.
And for lunch today, I had my favorite – the (slightly) spicy chicken satay with thick noodles, and peanut sauce with peas/edamame and red onion.

The staff is always so attentive, and with the high ceilings and cozy decor, you always feel welcome and valued customer.

I’ll be back next year! At least 4 times!

Ordered ‘The Royal’, very filling but deliciously prepared. Draft beer selection changes but had good picks. Drip coffee was very good. Visited several times now for quick lunch. Food is always at least 7 out of 10. Service always very good to excellent.
The only word of warning: On a show night in Downtown it can be difficult to get a table, let alone parking. Find out if there is a show the night you will be visiting and be prepared.

The staff are awesome, seem to fully enjoy their job. I know they could be faking it till they make it to the end of the day, but they do a damn good job at it if they are. I almost feel itd be like kicking a bag of puppies if a customer came in their giving them a hard time.
The food, well, its food. Its is tasty, but I do not believe the price point on everything is truly justified. It seems like it falls sqaurely between mediocre and something special. I chalk it up to “we’re downtown” pricing. All in all, do give it a try, but dont go in expecting fancy, or confuse it for the other San Chez. Same owner, different resteraunt.

First time checking out Roam and couldn’t be more impressed with my experience! The global cuisine concept is so clever and gives you a great variety of different options within your meal. The Hash Balls, Singapore Curry and Mango Sticky Rice (all pictured) were to die for. All of the staff, especially our server Allie (Ally?) were delightful! Allie was very friendly, informative and definitely sold us on the Pink Pony Club cocktail that she created! (Also pictured, and delicious!) Thank you Allie for making our experience that much better! We will definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!

I passed this place a hundred times and didn’t go in because I thought it was a high-end restaurant. But my son wanted to go, and as it turns out, it’s a phenomenal international street food restaurant! What??! I had the Singapore Curry even though it has tofu in it (which i don’t like), and my son had the Schnitzel – both delicious, I even liked the tofu! We also tried the chicken satay skewers and the Rangoon dip, which were both fabulous. I had a mocktail called 50 shades of earl grey that was divine. Service was quick, staff friendly, and the place was clean. Will definitely go back!
