I have to say this is one of the most memorable BBQ spots I have tried in Illinois. The flavors are incredible and every bite leaves you wanting more. I enjoyed it so much that I found myself returning just two days later to savor it again.
The brisket stood out as perfectly cooked, tender and lean, making it a real highlight of the meal. Everything about the experience, from the food to the atmosphere, made it a place I will definitely visit again.

I ordered the Choice of 3 Meat Plate for delivery and unfortunately, it was a letdown. The mashed potatoes, which were my chosen side, were stiff and flavorless, some gravy would have been nice. They were so dense that I could press my finger into them and it barely made a dent. For the meats, I chose chicken, ribs, and pulled pork. The pulled pork had no flavor outside of the barbecue sauce, which itself wasn’t very good. Paired with the bread, it was just okay. The ribs were equally unimpressive. The chicken was the best of the three, with flavor beyond the sauce, but still not something I’d order again. I also ordered Mac & Cheese and it looked nothing like the picture; there was no visible cheese and it had no flavor.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at The Texan Barbeque restaurant yesterday. We got the pulled pork and ribs and it was easily the best barbeque we have ever ate in this area. The ribs fall off the bone and are very tender. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing barbeque. 5+ STARS!!!

Texan BBQ in Algonquin nailed it! We go as a family, we order it to-go on busy nights, and we’ve even had them cater for our office in Addison. Every time they’re accommodating, provide quality food and are super friendly. My go-to is the pulled pork (so good), the garlic mashed potatoes & Brunswick Stew are amazing too.

Big man liked the ribs but stole a lot of my brisket. Teen man chowed on the Mac & cheese.
Service was friendly and in that great spot- attentive without being annoying.
Decor is rustic “you aren’t here for the decor but the BBQ”- which I appreciate!

This is an old time rustic barbecue served up in decent size portions accompanied by delicious sides. They don’t give enough fries. Prices are a bit high, but they have a decent choice of meats and the sauces are delicious. Both the baked beans and the various versions of fries are great sides. The atmosphere is rustic and worn in (looks a bit run down) as well as the decor, adding to the whole “rustic” eating experience. Our waitress was friendly and so was our order taker / server. Our food was just as ordered, but the sides were a bit small (and bland). The bbq sauce is decent, but they don’t give you enough sauce and the meats are sometimes overcooked or dry. Prices are a little bit high. The Texan is hit or miss when you roll in for some decent comfort food. Just make sure you get enough sauce, if not… the meat seems a bit dry. But the sauces are decent.

Was driving through town and stopped in and I’m glad I did. Fantastic food.
The moment you walk in, the smell lets you know you made the right decision. Their chili is unique in a great way and very meat-heavy. Even though it’s over an hour from me, it’s worth the drive.

I really enjoy this place. It’s rustic feel reminds me of a simple Texas BBQ – relaxing to sit and enjoy dinner. Food is very good, we had one problem with an overcooked portion but when we mentioned it they took care of it right away! Can’t ask for better service! If you’re looking for a home style BBQ dinner this is the place!
