Reviews
The food is a seamless marriage of Northern Indian and Chinese fusion. Pro tip: if you have any respect for your spice tolerance, go for ‘Hot.’ We tried the ‘Medium,’ which offered a polite, flavorful handshake rather than the fiery hug I was looking for.
But the real stars? The staff. They were so attentive I’m convinced they were telepathic; I didn’t have to flag them down once. It’s rare to find service this kind without it feeling intrusive. The cherry on top of a great night, I’ll definitely be back!
The Butter Chicken was overly colorful and stained my hands for days. The Shrimp Birani had only 3 pieces of shrimp and tasted overwhelmingly of chili dust. I’m paying good money for food, and I expect better quality and taste.
I hope Ashoka Restaurant takes immediate action to review their recipes, ingredient quality, and portion sizes. As a customer, I expect better value for my money.
Food: very good selection, they have dishes I have not seen at other places, awesome fruit and dessert selection
Atmosphere: every upscale, clean
Restroom: clean
They have a lot of desert options, but some may be limited.
Overall nice place, but better to plan ahead and reach early.
The bread pudding with vanilla ice cream was a surprise favorite—perfectly warm, pistachio-forward, and not overly sweet. It felt indulgent without being heavy, and the fusion flavors really stood out in the best way.
The seasonal cocktails were also on point. The hot toddy was nicely cinnamon-forward and comforting, while the egg nog was lightly sweet and balanced—not overpowering at all.
The weekend buffet is an absolute steal. It strikes a great balance between classic North Indian dishes and thoughtful fusion touches, making it feel both comforting and fresh.
Between the food, drinks, and long-standing presence in Little India, Ashoka The Great remains a spot worth returning to again and again.
