Italian basics, from pasta to pizza, served in a bright, contemporary-chic space with a quaint bar.

The pizza is wonderful the wings are top notch. Also the staff is friendly, the cooks know what they are doing, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the interior is amazing. When you walk in you can smell the delicious food and all around you see happy face’s enjoying well prepared food. While you are there, the owner will more than likely be there and visit your table and make sure everyone is doing fine. When she dose, she dose it in a way that truly shows you that your not just another pay check but a person who knows that its you that took the chance to go to her restaurant. It is certain that she cares about her customers because she see’s to it that your dinning needs are not just met but satisfied. I highly recommend this restaurant for those that want quality food and quality service.

Had the scallops: Amazing! Had the calamari: Perfectly cooked!
I’m glad the short-term staffing issues have been resolved. Good help is hard to find and I know that the management here has had to make changes to get things going strong again.
Bella Donna Italian Restaurant is worth a visit and great for “date night”!
(Edit: I read a review that someone (I assume some scammer) posted about the calamari at Bella Donna Italian Restaurant. I was shocked that they said the things they did. Apparently, they never ate at Bella Donna Italian Restaurant. I’ve seen the kitchen there – did some filming for an ad – and there’s no way it was cooked as poorly as the review suggested. This is why I think it’s an intentional hit piece.)

I love this place and go frequently. They have the world’s best pizza. Everything I have ever had here is good, rustic Italian, yummy and homemade. Occasionally somebody dining with me will have a meal that is NOT terrific, but that happens in any restaurant especially when they are super busy.Overall, the standard is very very high.

Bella Donna is moving and we are excited. We ate at the old venue which was lovely but sparse (hence only the very good for decor), it is moving to the old Pizza Hut building by the Piggly Wiggly which will be a better venue for them. The food was great, fresh, homemade and at the time we went there was free wine which was a nice touch. The owner and staff were super friendly and welcoming. I believe the new venue opens in about a week and I’m looking forward to eating there again.

We are frequent visitors to Bella Donna. When we want excellent Italian food or if we happen to be in Pittsboro and want to dine out, there is none better than Bella Donna.
We don’t go there expecting to be served in 10 minutes because it is not a fast food restaurant. Rather it is more indicative of an Italian meal in which family and friends sit around the table and talk and enjoy their favorite beverage and incredible appetizers.
Then once the entree is served, all talk ceases as the focus becomes the absolute best Italian food to be found!
Despite being down two servers, our waitress was extremely attentive to us and Donna even came out of the kitchen to visit with us.
But don’t take my word for it. Go see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

I was so happy to have found an Italian restaurant that actually makes pizza as good as the pies I was used to on Long Island, NY! I have been trying pizza everywhere I can now that I’m living here in NC. None had a crusty and bubbly crust. Her blend of great sauce and the right amount of cheese was more than I expected! Tasted just like home. Can’t wait to try the calzones!
My husband got home made pasta with bolinaise sauce, and it was perfect as well!
Great dining experience!

Got an outstanding house salad for dinner with olives, onion and fresh mushrooms with homemade dressing. The building is spectacular with stone and wood including a bar with local beers from microbreweries. This is a one of a kind locally owned and operated business. They make their own Foccocia bread every day, their own pasta and buy local organic vegetable and meats when they can. Also excellent service.

Had an absolutely wonderful meal. 0ur first time there. As there were four of us we got to taste different dishes. Each one was superb. Pizza, salads, scallop special and great wine.
We are going back this weekend.

We went to this place on Valentine’s Day 2018. First of all we had a long wait for our food and when our food finally came it was horrible. My pasta was clumpy, it was bland, not even seasoned, had barely any Alfredo sauce on it so that I can put it on the rest of the fettuccine and it was cold. His Lasagna that came was in a bowl and one layer and it was cold and it had a funny taste to it… (And l won’t go into the lasagna thing, so whoever made that… does not know how to make lasagna! And thats all l am saying!!) When they bought his food he had no silverware that he had asked for a half an hour prior that we never got. And no one brought out our drinks or even a snack to the table and after we got our drinks which we really needed to wash down the food (seriously)… but we ask for refill but the waitress never came back for our refill while we were eating. But she did come back with a refill as we were getting up to leave. Our plates cost an average of anywhere between $14 to $18 and it is way…way… overpriced for the horrible food. The food was so horrible tasting, very bland, dry, not seasoned and it was cold…. it was not Chef prepared quality tasting food…very poor taste and texture, their chef’s cooking ability was very much lacking.
So to recap, it was a very long wait , the staff was not very attentive, the food was terrible, and it was way overpriced . Overall it really was a terrible dining experience for us. With just having moved to the Pittsboro area, we really were looking for a pleasant dining and good food experience. So all l have to say is don’t go there,…really…REALLY SAVE YOUR MONEY, dont waste it…we
really did waste our money here on what should have been amazing night with good tasting food. But it really was such a terrible disappointment and we really had a very unpleasant dining experience there. I hate to say this but I don’t even want to give them this one star they don’t even deserve but maybe an half a star… and I’m being generous at that. Save your money and go 2 other restaurants with better reputations or go to Maggiano’s Italian restaurant at South Hills…for the same price you can get delicious tasting food for what you would pay at Bella Donna Restaurant. Needless to say we will not be returning to Bella Donna’s restaurant.

We had a five star experience in Feb 2015 but tonight’s experience was awful. They opened at 4 and we arrived at 4:30. There was no other customers and no staff at the front desk. There was a sign to seat ourselves and we did but then we had to search for the waiter since he didn’t know we had walked in. It took over 40 minutes to get our appetizers and another 20 for our entrees, which were all ordered at once. The food was bland and basic at best. While wanting to enjoy our meal on the “quiet romantic side” of the restaurant, we were treated to the waitstaff’s loud personal conversations that included strippers, gossip about bosses, and her dogs’ lack of being housebroken.
We will not be returning.
