Such a great place to spend an hour or so! I live in Indiana and love Blue Bell ice cream, so I had to visit while in Texas. The country store has all sorts of fun Blue Bell items, I bought a couple magnets, an ice cream scoop, and a Christmas ornament, all Blue Bell themed. And the funnest part is they give you a free ice cream container with your items inside, loved that.

Directly next to the country store is the ice cream parlor. I tried cinnamon and krazy kookie dough as they are both ice cream parlor exclusive so I cant buy them at home. They were both excellent and I wish they were available in quarts! And for only $1 a scoop its a great deal to try a couple new flavors. The observation platform is also inside the country store/ice cream parlor building. No photos or videos allowed of that part.

The visitors center is a bit small and has informational panels about the history of the company and some antique items. I thought there would be more in that part but there’s only so much to show, it’s ice cream after all.

Definitely worth the visit for $1 scoops of great new flavors and for a fun souvenir!

Very cute. You can not take pictures of the observation deck area. But the ice creams 1 dollar scoops. And the shirts and other merch is great quality. I have a good time learning about the ice cream my family loves so much.

Stopped by the Brenham store yesterday and it hit all the right notes. $1 scoops are a steal—creamy, fresh, and generous. Watched the production line from the observation deck (get there before 2 PM!) and grabbed some merch. Simple, sweet, and quintessentially Texan. Worth the detour if you’re anywhere nearby.

We visited the Blue Bell Creamery factory in Brenham, TX, and it was absolutely amazing! $1 scoops of ice cream — yes, you read that right.

This is truly one of the best factories you can visit. The observation deck gave a perfect view of the production floor, and the videos, historical photos, and even artifacts of tools from the earliest days dating back to 1907 made the history and process come alive. The facility itself was spotless — easily the cleanest and most well‑maintained manufacturing site we’ve ever seen.

We started with a $1 scoop of one flavor of their made‑in‑house ice cream, explored the factory, and then treated ourselves to a second flavor. Every bite was incredible — the ice cream is just that good!

What really stood out was the staff — so kind, welcoming, and genuinely proud of the work they do. You can feel the sense of pride and tradition not just in the company, but in the community around Brenham. Driving away, I had an even greater appreciation for the cows dotting the local ranches, knowing the care and dedication that goes into every batch of ice cream.

If you’re anywhere near Brenham, TX, this is an absolute must‑visit. Wonderful ice cream, fascinating tour, and an experience that leaves you with a real appreciation for both the people and the process behind one of America’s favorite ice creams.

Absolutely worth the wait and patience for a parking spot the week of Thanksgiving. We visited here over a decade ago and it’s still a fun family stop for all ages and mobility. The 1$ ice cream was delicious and they offer lots of choices. Fun to watch packing on the observation deck. Still feel sad for those northern and western folks on the distribution map!

They have room for improvement and updating in the visitors center building. The gift shop in the other building where the observation deck and ice cream parlor are located, has adorable items for every age. As a lifelong Blue Bell fan, Blinn alumni, and 1988 high school grad of the area, it’s always fun coming home and tasting the sweetness of Blue Bell where it all began!

Great day trip from Bastrop. We got to view the production line, they were producing 1 and 5 gallon Cookies and Cream. Its amazing watching the cartons being filled.
There are so many flavors to choose from. A few years ago, they had us sample a new flavor that Bluebell was thinking of introducing.

Stopped by Blue Bell Creamery and it was such a cool experience! Scoops were only $1 each, and they were big — definitely worth every penny. It was fun seeing all the different things they had to offer, from the viewing areas to the fun memorabilia and history of how everything started. The atmosphere was clean, welcoming, and full of charm. If you’re ever in the area, it’s a great little stop for families, kids, or anyone who loves ice cream (and who doesn’t?). Highly recommend!
