A Friday evening dinner for myself and my fiancee…
At first when you see the cosy environment with maybe just 20 or so covers you may wonder if you have made the right choice… but don’t worry – you have!!
The service was friendly and efficient…
The food… was in a way disarming… the presentation was relatively simple… but that meant that the flavours were even more unexpected and surprising… all dishes were delicious and the flavours stayed with us for a long time afterwards… recommended!!

Annette is a true culinary gem where each dish feels like crafted with precision and artistry. The simple and warm ambiance is complimented by the welcoming staff. With only 20 seatings , reservation is a must. Do not miss out on the experience if you’re in La Rochelle.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Restaurant Annette last night.
Small menu which is always a good sign.
Each of our Main Choices – Steak / Sole Meunier / Vegetarian Flatbread (& vegetables) and a lovely sauce were well received.
A really welcoming hostess, friendly ambiance & reasonable prices….well are in France by the sea after all.
Only comment from me would be maybe the Fush Soup which was beautifully presented could have had a little more fish.

We were blown away by this recently opened restaurant. We ordered three different starters and main courses and every dish was superb. The menu is so well constructed and everything from the ambience to the cocktails hits the spot. The service, too, was impeccable. We’ll be back for the July menu soon.

Absolutely delicious food. Good wine list. Perfect sized portions too. So glad I reserved as it was busy and I saw a number of walk ins turned away. We were not rushed at all. Also nice to see that the restaurant serves until later in the evening which some in LR don’t.

Doesn’t look much from the outside, and then you get in and have one of the best food experiences in La Rochelle. The porchetta is one of the best I’ve ever had, and the fusion with UK cousine is just magistrally executed. Highly recommended.

Absolute must visit to experience high quality french cuisine with flavourful dishes to taste!
The fish dish with fennel cooked two ways was unbelievably good! Explosion of flavour, pickled fennel with mint, dill and roasted hazelnuts are complimented with juicy grilled fish, roasted soft smoky fennel and sweet caramelised orange marmalade, every bite of that dish was divine.
Panna cotta with rhubarb and raspberry compote plus gin granita was the best desert i’ve ever eaten!
Soft wobbly vanilla panna cotta with perfect texture that just melts in your mouth complimented with sour rhubarb compote, sweet fresh raspberries and herbal gin granita topped with micro shiso herbs that add liquorice lemony flavour. Just wow! The taste explosion and experience i will cherish for many years to come.
