My girlfriend and I wandered into The Backspace on a Saturday night without knowing what to expect, and it turned into an instant favorite! The atmosphere is simply perfect—we snagged a seat right next to the cozy fireplace and were able to enjoy a wonderfully intimate and relaxed experience away from the noise.
The bar offerings are superb. My girlfriend loved her handcrafted cocktail (which is high praise!), and my Old Fashioned was delicious. They also have a great selection of cold beer and the prices aren’t bad at all.

The food was the biggest surprise! I had the chicken sandwich with the hot honey sauce and it was absolutely delicious—juicy, crispy, and the sauce had the perfect kick. My girlfriend, Jessica, ordered the pork tacos and raved about them. They were so good, I ended up finishing them for her (zero regrets!).

The service was incredibly fast and friendly, and considering the quality of the food and drinks, the prices were very reasonable.
If you’re looking for a cozy, authentic, and delicious spot in the French Quarter for a date night or late bite, The Backspace is a must. It was an overall amazing vibe, and we will definitely be back!

We had great service several days while visiting. Jamie, Benjamin and Tyler took excellent care of us! $2 cold Bottled Busch lite ( and a few other domestic bottles for $2 and $3 domestics) is the best deal in the French Quarter! We ordered a BLT one night and was one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a hidden gem!

Refreshing lunch after walking through the French Quarter in the August heat.
The place has a very unique and charming atmosphere.

The staff was friendly and polite, though I found it a bit unusual to have to place the order at the counter and grab drinks myself instead of being served at the table. The sandwiches were on the smaller side—perhaps that explains the lower price—but overall quite decent. The only downsides were the top bun being a bit cold and the bacon slightly tough.

Because of these details I give it 4 stars, but overall it’s a good spot for lunch, with prices that are fair and in line with the area.

A divey sports bar with good food.
Tried the shrimp po’boy, honey chicken sandwich and the brussel sprouts.
The honey sauce on the chicken and sprouts is really good and messy.
The fries are the usual floppy style we had all week, desperate for good crispy fries after the trip

Backspace in the French Quarter is absolutely killing it! The new GM is doing an incredible job. The bar is spotless, the vibe is fantastic, and it’s looking better than ever. The drink prices are unbeatable, hands-down the best in the Quarter. I also had their tacos (check the pic) and they were delicious. Perfect bar food to pair with great drinks. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink and some bites. Keep up the great work!

Found a true local Cajun late night gem across the Marriott.

When studying posted menu, their friendly cook approached me speaking creole explaining their menu.

She was able to accommodate an off menu poboy request due to allergy, and ragin cajun, it was amazing.

$3 fries, $3 Brussels, 2am close on weekends.

Perfect for Marriott hotel guests and exponentially better than the tourist traps on Canal

Okay so the brussels sprouts changed my life! Seriously I have no idea what the chef did to them but the best ever! Then I had a grown-up grilled cheese, felt like a kid in a candy shop. Dee Dee the chef served me and brought out her signature meatballs as a surprise. This food is infused with love ❤️Highly recommend.

Recently snagged dinner and drinks before the obligatory visit to Bourbon St. Drinks were cold and right on time. Food was delish, especially the boudin balls. Service was great. All that being said, atmosphere and location are the features that will keep us coming back.
