I pass about 17 Mexican restaurants and cross a state line to enjoy this place. Based on the surrounding area and its placement, you wouldn’t think it would be somewhere to get excited about, but it’s superb. I always forget where I am for a little bit when I’m here. Great food, great staff, and a lot of aesthetic uniformity.

Had a great lunch with a large group after church. Enjoyed my Antonio Special, but wish the pineapples had been grilled rather than served on the side. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was fast and the food was hot and fresh for all.

First time to visit Cancun Mexican bar and Grill stopped in with my daughter and her husband here in Newport Kentucky. Absolutely love the atmosphere. Great place! Good ambience on the river. Good margs. I got the gold. And honestly the BEST tortilla soup I’ve had. I’m from La (harsh critic) and I lived in Texas for 30 years. This place was surprisingly good! Tamales really good as well as taco salad! And stunning views on the river!

Cancun has good consistent food with good margaritas as well. They have always had plenty of seating whenever we would go. The service is friendly and quick, along with their food.

It’s the atmosphere that keeps us coming back. The service sucks, you always have to wait on your waiter, it’s hard to even get refills on your water. The food is alright. Some things are flavorful, large portioned and well seasoned. Other foods are not seasoned at all, like the taco salad which comes with wet ground beef on the bottom and lettuce and other things like tomatoes on top, but nothing is cut properly to be ready to eat, nor seasoned. I will think twice next time before going there

Do not come here. Terrible food and service. I have food poisoning right now and I’ve been puking all night. I tried to force myself to eat the jalapeño poppers but I couldn’t. They were incredibly undercooked and plated like crap. I just didn’t want to waste my money. Took 20 mins to just get a water. No refills. I love this place for the view and a good marg but service was terrible food was even worse. Also 9 dollars for the smallest thing of mediocre guac in the world. Only good service we received was a younger red head or strawberry blonde manager I think. I just didn’t get his name. But very nice and helpful.

We celebrated today to avoid any crowds. We had a wonderful lunch with a very friendly waitress that helped us order a wonderful meal.
The salsa was wonderful.. lots of flavor and the chips came out hot… great start.
He ordered a burrito with steak and chicken and I had some and it was really flavorful and just good. He kept wanting me to try the beef as he loved it! Very tender.
I wasn’t super hungry and i like to try a little of everything… need variety right now as I get super sick of things.. anyway, I ordered one taco with the Serrano and it was HOT and so very good.. it bit hot for me but next time I will get the tacos with less hot or try the fajitas.
We ordered the sopapillas and they were different to what I thought a soapapilla is (soft pillowy is how my dad made them). These were crunchy and cinnamony and super flavorful and the waitress was wonderful and gave us bonus fried ice cream instead of the regular… that was cool cause I haven’t had that since chi chis was around. lol
All in all it was an amazing meal with super friendly service… we can’t wait to go back and take our kiddo… it’s nice to have found a Mexican restaurant in the area that we enjoyed…
