Excellent hole in the wall restaurant serving up homestyle meals! Feels like we ate at la cocina de abuelita Family owned and ran… First visit and we saw the owner and his wife. Waitress was excellent and she’s been there almost 20 years, we had excellent service.
Favs: the beef puffy taco and beef enchiladas were delicious! the fideo loco was very good too. Chips and salsa are excellent. And they have great lunch specials daily (including weekends).
Bottom line: Highly recommend and we will be back!

Possibly the best menudo iv had in San Antonio! Also ordered a barbacoa taco and it was delicious not extra greasy at all. The staff is really nice and courteous. I asked the server if they had a more spicy salsa, they didn’t but the owner went into the kitchen and made me a very spicy salsa just for our table.
That’s the old school type of service you don’t get now.

Came here because 2 good friends from work told me this place was “very good.” Well they did not lie. If we are talking only about the food then chefs kiss. Very very tasty. I ordered a Caldo de Res (Mexican beef soup) and a huevo a la Mexicana taco. Excellent. The coffee was good but the important part is that my waitress Griselda always kept it full. The service she provided was exceptional. Next time I’m here I want her to wait on me again. I should have known this place was going to leave on impression by how full the parking lot was on a Saturday morning after a stormy night. This place is a GEM ✨️ ✨️

I will call this restaurant a hole in the wall, no fancy decorations but authentic decor. The service is fast and friendly. After you place your order, the food is served quickly. We ordered tacos, and the flour tortillas were fresh, hot, and made to perfection. The chorizo and egg were served fresh, hot, and delicious. The beans and chorizo were probably the best I ever had. The barbacoa taco was delicious, not greasy but not dry and flavorful. Overall, authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. I will be a regular customer and highly recommend.

I go here weekly! Love this place! 9/10! Wish they used cheddar cheese instead of American velvetta cheese. Also to reduce some of the grease from picadillo meat. Other than that, 10/10. Love the staff, always friendly and ready to serve. Sweet sweet women who need raises for all their hard work! I’m always happy to see them. I love their morning coffee too. I also enjoy that they are Christian’s operating this restaurant and they have sometimes a live musician who sings Mexican and plays guitar. A special hole in the wall place!
