Top of the line: Went around 9pm. Didn’t know what to expect, but got an assortment of some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Everything was spiced and cooked to perfection. Served promptly. We sat outside at a table. Chicken was absolutely mouthwatering and I got the best cup of chai I’ve ever had in my life, seriously. Highly recommend if you’re a fan of truly delicious food. The cherry on top: Entire meal for 2 was only $42! Unbeatable, I’m excited to return.

This restaurant is my introduction to Afghan cuisine and I’m delighted Kabuli Palaw and Afghan ashaika are so yummy! Don’t forget the sauces, they compliment the palaw. I also tried the beef qorma and bolani, which are great as well!

Went here on a Friday night with some coworkers, the food was really good. I order the Chicken Karahi and some pitas, and tried some of the Lamb Shank as well. All the food was really tasty and the Karahi was not too spicy while still having peppers and being well spiced. Inside they have plenty of seating and also have an outdoor area. Lots of vegetarian options that helped for one of my coworkers who doesn’t eat meat.

Delicious meal in a cozy, casual setting. The chicken soup was hearty and universally enjoyed, reminiscent of a sweet corn chicken soup enjoyed in many indo-Chinese restaurants. The kabuli palaw is also recommendable, with tender lamb morsels. My wife loved her wrap and my son his kofta kabob. The chicken kabob was satisfactory (the spices are more nuanced than the in your face flavors that im more familiar with) As an Indian the chai was slightly different to what I am used to, but very enjoyable and I look forward to coming back. We all loved the sweet cinnamon dessert that my wife described as “chai meets rice pudding”. Service was very warm, responsive, and earnest, like visiting a family member. Overall, highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience at Afghan Bamyan Kabob in Chicago. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
We tried the Afghan Palaw (Pilao), mantu, and a cheeseburger—each dish was exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful. The Palaw, in particular, was a standout, featuring tender lamb over fragrant rice. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. The mantu entree included ten delicately spiced dumplings that were equally impressive.
The cheeseburger was a pleasant surprise. Instead of a typical pre-made frozen restaurant depot patty, it featured a house-made, robust beef patty. Even our picky eater, who normally dislikes beef burgers, enjoyed it—a strong endorsement in itself.
Overall, the food was delicious, portions were hearty, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend Afghan Bamyan Kabob for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Afghan cuisine in a welcoming setting.

Absolutely incredible food. I am feeling under the weather and wanted some soup and veggies to help me feel a bit better, and after browsing online, this spot looked like they made the best chicken soup. I was right! The soup had a beautiful texture— I could tell they stewed the broth with the chicken’s bones to enrich it with collagen. I also got a salad which was beautifully flavored. I ordered a chicken kabob as well, which again was flavorful, juicy, and perfectly done. I will absolutely be ordering again. Thank you!
