Simply wonderful! I loved the food, everything was delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The sangria was perfect, not too strong and not too weak. We tried a little bit of everything, and everything was amazing. It’s hard to say which dish was my favorite because everything was so good. The plantain and corn soup, the caraminholas, and the chicken paella were all among my favorites. I also highly recommend the dessert! Plus, the restaurant is in a great location. I will definitely be coming back!

Solea was ok. The dishes were really hit or miss. The tenderloin, broccoli fritters, roasted vegetables, and shrimp were all good. The paella was ok – seafood was tender but I feel this dish didn’t have a lot of flavor. The jamon iberico was bad. Super chewy. The service was ok, nothing standout.

Options! So many small plates—but also entrees—to choose from! We LOVED the freshness of our ceviche, sticky ribs & calamari—Quality food & Timely service! Three of us enjoyed sharing the variety of tapas veggie, beef, pork & seafood dishes while still individually selecting either an AMAZING corn plantain soup, tasty avacado, corn salad or scrumptious salmon entree too. The Classic Sangria was wonderful! Colorful, upbeat, spacious ambience, nice background music & knowledgeable, polite servers led to a lovely, lingering dinner experience we look forward to revisiting again soon! I already know 2 more dishes I want to try! Oh & dessert was delectable!

From the moment we stepped into Solea Restaurant we were greeted with friendly faces and a warm atmosphere that opened up into a uniquely decorated foyer. The layout of the restaurant was inviting, but also felt private as it was divided into sections carefully tailored to match the food and energy presented in each one. Our party has been following Chef Viviana’s culinary journey, where it has now landed it’s next step here at Solea. As expected, her dishes did not disappoint our taste buds. We spent several hours enjoying good conversation and sharing the spinach and artichoke dip, ceviche, carimanolas (a personal favorite), plantain and corn soup (one of Vivi’s award winning dishes), crostini de sardina, pulpo al mojo verde, calamaris fritos, sticky ribs, chicharron al aji, and lamb kabobs. All of this was accompanied with a perfectly blended classic sangria to balance the flavors of the food, and finished off with a decadent dessert. The service was attentive, prompt, and seamlessly delivered. We can’t wait for the next time we come to Solea to try even more of these artisanal dishes.

It’s pretty darn good. Some dishes definitely shine more than others, but over all we had an amazing experience here. The paella were massive and can definitely feed 2 if not 3 people easily. We got the chicken and chorizo and the seafood paella and each were good in their own way.

The rice they use is very delicious and soaks up the flavor of a meat in a way that is very satisfying. The meat itself is good and the empanadas are pretty good too.

My favorite tapas had to be the asparagus and the Fritos, but the ceviche let me down. It was good but just not for me personally. Overall, I can see why so many people have recommend this spot and I can definitely recommend!

Pretty disappointing tapas experience, we really didn’t enjoy the food. Our first tip should’ve been the fact that they play Mexican music at what’s supposed to be a tapas restaurant. They were mixing cuisines and none of it was quite authentic. The only thing that was enjoyed was the gazpacho and the cauliflower & beef empanada were nice. Didn’t taste all fresh and lots of it was overcooked with little flavour. 130$ without tip really wasn’t worth it. There are better food joints to check out on moody street for sure.

Really cool decor, tasty food with a variety of items to try. There was a bottle of water for the table. The music was a little loud for me. Quite a lot of seats available, and parking was a bit of a challenge but we found a spot eventually. Beef empanada was very tasty, and we also enjoyed the cheese platter among other dishes.

Out of half the stuff we ordered. We ordered two beers. Both out. (there’s only 6 on the menu). One of us ordered something with aperol. Also out. Calamari? Out. Chocolate cake? Also out (there was only 4 desserts on the menu).

Our server was unapologetic and seem a little irritated when we said something about that (politely). The last hour we were there no one came to check on us. No water refills no drinks. I was so thirsty I drank someone else’s water. Needless to say, none of us will be returning to this restaurant.

Started off with messy and oily dishes and unfortunately things didn’t improve from there. We tried giving it a fair chance, but the food was well below the average compared to other tapas bars. There was only one server, which is understandable for a Sunday noon, but overall service felt stretched. The seating couches have clearly seen better days. Overall, it’s a place with potential, but given the competition on this street, there are definitely better options for food and atmosphere.

The only good thing was the cocktail.

I will start by saying that I am a vegetarian and I can only comment from that viewpoint. I have been a somewhat regular customer since Solea opened. I just recently dined here and was very disappointed as was my girlfriend. The menu changes were poor. First, we loved the baked goat cheese and marinara sauce, as did everyone that we ever went to the restaurant with and now it no longer is on the menu. The new hummus was very liquid and unappetizing. The pita chips that came with it were rock hard and overcooked. The tortilla espanola was made completely different and was not good. The fitters that used to be on the menu and were great are now gone. Had the cauliflower and it was average at best. New chef = bad experience.
Service staff and sangria were still great. Sadly we will not be coming back.
