Always a delicious meal here. I absolutely love the mole, especially Amarillo, Negro, and Coloradito. Supremely tasty. Service is usually good, but the restaurant is always busy, so service can get sketchy. I come here every time I’m near Salt Lake City and I’ve never been disappointed.

This is my second time coming to Red Iguana 2. Both times I left it up to the waiter and waitress to give me guidance on what to order since everything looked awesome on the menu. First time I had a mole that was awesome but I sadly forgot exactly what it was. This time it was the quesadilla which was pretty much an open ended burrito. It was amazing and the salsa they had was addictingly delicious and spicy. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Definitely coming here again. If you come here unsure of what to get, trust the staff and see what they smile about with their recommendations. The bigger the smile, the more they like it. Highly recommend.

Can on a Wednesday night, had a reservation at 7 and didn’t get seated until 7:30. Didn’t get water or salsa or our order taken until 7:45. Brought out 2 basket of salsa for a group of 12, never refilled. Chimichanga was not crispy and the red sauce tasted like they opened a can of chunky tomato sauce and poured it on top. Guacamole also looked/tasted like it was premade from a grocery store. Got a mango margarita that tasted like it was made from a premade mixer, couldn’t taste any tequila and it was in a tiny cup. Not sure what all the hype is about. Oh and parking was also ridiculous.

Eating at Red Iguana 2 is dangerous because you will never want to eat Mexican food anywhere else again. The service is top notch. The food is world class. Your mexican best friend’s abuela doesn’t make mole this good. Your water glass is never empty. They dont ask if you want more salsa, they just bring it over because of course you want more salsa, its a given.

The food was good, nothing too crazy to write home about. People talk about how it’s the best Mexican food they have had, and maybe I’m a harder judge after living in Texas but the food was good, not great. Waiter was good! I would go back and try again.

For Mexican food in the heart of Utah, I am impressed. This joint is known for the mole, so get the sampler. Enchiladas are a go! The poblano enchiladas are creamy, almost sweet and did the job. Worth a visit!

My experience here was okay. I ordered tiger prawn fajitas and was disappointed to receive smaller shrimp instead. They were good, but not necessarily something I think I’ll find myself craving or unable to get elsewhere.

I did quite enjoy the vibe of the place!

I want to give it 5, but I just can’t. We heard about this place all the way down in Florida and we were told by locals that it’s the very best there is.

We were seated quickly, party of 4, but then saw that we were ignored for atleast 10 minutes or longer, while the tables on both sides of us were catered to – being seated after us. This does not sit well with me, huge pet peeve. Chips, salsa and drinks need to be done within 1-2 minutes of being seated.

The chips and salsa were great. Really good.

The drinks are good. Wife had the limon drop and it was REALLY good.

The rest of the food was about what we would expect. I had the red iguana plate and it was good, wife had the chicken enchiladas and they were just standard offerings you would find anywhere.

The nachos were decent but I think the Mexican food spots down south know how to nacho much better.

The chimichanga was solid. Nothing to rave about, but a good meal.

Overall our party of 4 was content. We were slightly let down based on the reputation, but we were not disappointed overall.

One thing we didn’t really care for was how soaking wet most of the entrees are. Maybe thats just their style, but it was quite soggy.

Location was great!

We might be back before we are out of town. Maybe try the other location and all different entrees.

Solid place overall.
