This was a great find on our vacation at the Finger Lakes. This restaurant was on Lake Keuga. Our table had a prime view of the lake.
The food was awesome. We shared a Mediterranean Pizza. The bourbon list was extensive. I chose the Horse Soldier that the bartender recommended. He did not steer me wrong. Even better than the taste was the story of how it was originally made. Look into it.
This place did not disappoint. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly. Don’t miss this stop on your journey. Enjoy!

We came here for a drink prior to and after our boat trip in early September. We had the bloody Mary before going out and the little snacks that came with it along with were perfect. The drinks were good but the scenery, servers, and atmosphere made it even better. The drinks were a step above and I would have to assume the food is amazing as this place was jam packed at 12 oclock on a Thursday in September.

I hate leaving 1 star reviews but I’m an honest person and I’m assuming the business wants honest feedback back so here goes… we visited on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch after visiting the waterfalls. We (me and best friend) were exhausted and starving from our hike so when we pulled up and saw the view we were even happier! Being from the NY city area fine dining is something we do well don’t get me wrong we can rough it with the best of them but this was far from “fine dining” it was even a far cry from a step above microwaved food. We are very easy going and understand most restaurants that have views like this either have amazing views or good food. We were fine having less than great food if we could enjoy the atmosphere and the drinks. The apple cider spritzer wasn’t for me, but other tables were ordering so ♀️. Love that they are dog friendly. Some customers had dogs relaxing, some were barking but that’s what dogs do! The host was very kind, he seemed to double as a bartender. Our server was very nice, she did not get our order correct but it was busy and she seemed to be the only one serving. I had the chicken tenders with sweet potato fries. They were so greasy they dripped oil all over the fries. I hate giving businesses poor reviews but the fish tacos should be removed from menu or moved to children’s menu if they are going to be served that way. No non dairy options which was fine until the fish tacos were covered in melted shred cheese as well as unmelted. If they tasted good I wouldn’t care what they looked like but it was a tortilla with iceberg lettuce, cheese, green bell pepper, tomato and the usual sides (sour cream, salsa) we don’t waste food but we couldn’t force ourselves to eat the food. There was a little merch shop attached to restaurant that had some cute stuff but after our meal we were ready to go to subway so we didn’t get a chance to purchase anything. Our waitress was very sweet. She was being run all over by the other guests but she kept her cool and seemed to tend to everyone very well. For two of us to have 1 alcoholic drink, 1 soda, shared appetizer, fish tacos, chicken tenders the bill was $78. We don’t mind paying $$$ if it’s worth it. Can’t rate the other guests but if we could it wouldn’t help the restaurant . I was called a hippy liberal!?! Because I have purple hair and was smoking (my prescribed marijuana) in the parking lot. Or because we are tattooed I’m not sure. For the record I could care less about politics so a lazy hippy maybe. Can’t take anything away from the the views or the actual restaurant it was set up very cool.

Would have given the food 5 stars, but I couldn’t because the salsa provided with the fish tacos was out of a jar. No restaurant should ever serve salsa from Jar. I can go to the store and buy one if I wanted to. Make your salsa fresh like the tacos were. Just have to be real. The restaurant has so much to offer including the gorgeous views.

Great view of the lake!
You can’t beat the views here. The parking situation is leaves a bit to be desired but what can you do, it’s on a steep hill so if you have people with you that need assistance drop them off at the entrance. The staff was friendly and attentive. The portions were generous. The fried fish was crispy and not greasy. The firecracker shrimp are VERY spicy ( this from someone who likes spice)
Biggest quibble is that you almost feel like the building is going to fall into the lake. It’s been added on and added on so many times and seems unstable but that may just be the engineer in me talking 😉
The wings had a great sauce ( I would order extra crispy next time)
It was very warm inside but also very packed with people and a hot day so I’m sure the AC struggled to keep up with the offset of BTUs the customer were producing as well.
The chowder was amazing
Overall a great experience.

$19 for mushy spaghetti with microwaved meatballs. I get that the main offerings on the menu are seafood but if you can’t make a decent spaghetti and meatball entree for the non seafood eaters, don’t even offer it let alone charge so much for it! My friend ordered a salmon dish and enjoyed it but my spaghetti was mushy and the meatballs were half rock hard and the other half just gross. They were clearly over microwaved. See photo below of the meatball cut in half. You can see in the photo how bad it was. I did let the waiter know and he apologized but that was it. The server was very nice and did a great job. He was just young and probably not trained on how to handle a food complaint. I will probably return but not for food. The atmosphere was great and the staff very friendly.

The Switzerland Inn is a very nice place along a beautiful lake . We were traveling through NY, and we were staying in Hamansport. We needed a place to eat, and the Switzerland Inn was the suggestion. We are so glad we did. It wasn’t too far out of the way either. Not only was the food and the staff nice, the view was fantastic.
