This is hands-down the best Hawaiian BBQ spot in town, and so good it’s sure to reset your standards. The short ribs are mainly meat, the teriyaki sauce seems to be housemade, everything is cooked and seasoned to perfection, the musubi is *divine*, and the soft-serve Dole whip was the best way to wrap up an ideal meal.

Matiki Island BBQ was absolutely delicious — a solid 5/5 in my book! The beef was incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor, cooked perfectly with that island-style touch that makes you want more. The menu has a great variety, and everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing.
The restaurant stays busy with lots of to-go orders, which tells you how popular it is. Even with the rush, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I also noticed a lot of people grabbing the desserts, which looked so good — I’ll be trying one next time for sure.
It’s a small restaurant, but don’t let that fool you — it delivers big flavor and has a big heart. Great food, good vibes, and definitely worth the visit. I’ll 100% be back and will be bringing friends and family with me!

Honestly some of the best, real, authentic spot around. From their food to their service and staff – just great all around!
It’s tucked in a strip mall, but you can’t miss their sign.
I ordered for a Friday dinner takeout and they told me it’d be about 15-20 min wait. I didn’t mind because I’ve been told that their food is worth it, and they were right! As I was waiting, people were coming in to pick up phone orders and third-party orders. So you know it’s hoppin’. But just watching the staff interact with the customers coming in and working together – they just make you feel so comfy and can’t help but smile.
Food did NOT disappoint! Of course I got a plate of the beef ribs, which had the right amount of meat and fat. My dog even loved getting to lick the dinosaur bones after. I also got a plate with beef and chicken, which were incredible too. Felt like it came from a home kitchen, just packaged in a to-go container.
AND they have Dole soft serve, like the real deal stuff! You can see the ingredient packaging when you’re in there. So it’s not just “pineapple soft serve”, it’s DOLE.
Just come through and you’ll see the charm of this place and what makes it so good!

Absolutely the best Hawaiian food in Anaheim! Delicious chicken and my husband loved his Beef ribs. You get a sizeable portion for the price. The staff are very friendly and nice. I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant.

After seeing this place on instagram, I just had to make a trip out there. I tried the steak, chicken and ribs. The go to is definitely the ribs!!!! Under $20 for 5 beef ribs!! Had a nice char to it and the sauce is fire!!!!!! I drenched all my meats with their sauce.
