I was very impressed by Le Petite Chaise. It’s by many accounts the oldest ongoing restaurant in Paris, and the cozy setting evokes an old world charm, and as underdressed non-French speakers we were worried we’d be out of our element. The service was excellent – attentive, warm, and non-judgemental. We genuinely felt looked after. The French onion soup was excellent, as were our mains. A lovely, relaxed way to experience traditional French dining at what I think were very reasonable prices considering the very high standard of food and service.

We went for my husband’s birthday after hearing great things about this restaurant, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The whole experience felt so special.
The ambiance is very French with cosy, close-together tables, and the service was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and happy to speak English.
The food was exceptional. The steak was perfectly cooked, but the real star was the béarnaise foam… honestly the best I’ve ever had. I loved it so much I had to order a second serving! The chips were amazing, and the tarte Tatin for dessert was divine.
Would recommend this place in a heartbeat. A truly memorable meal.

Was here for dinner this evening and what a great dinner. Amazing atmosphere and service. Outstanding food. We had the Chicken Supreme and Steak Tartar. Chicken was good, steak was amazing. We started with the lobster and chopped vegetable appetizer which was amazing (sorry, forgot to take picture). This was our first visit here, but will definitely make this a regular on future visits.

Right from the service to the food to the atmosphere of the place it was absolutely fantastic. I had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection. The wine was a great addition as it was recommended by the staff. Overall a great experience with my friends and I’m definitely keen on coming back here. Kudos to you guys ! Keep up the great work. Ideal for a date night and I can’t wait to come here with my partner 🙂 I am really looking forward to it !

This was a return visit to relive my excellent experience in 2007. It lived up to expectations! The food was so delicious. The Beurre Blanc on the Sea Bass was drinkable and the Floating Islands were light yet decadent. A long sought after wine no longer available to me in the US was on the wine list. What a plus to have Lucien Crochet Sancerre again! Service was excellent and the small, crowded space somehow remained intimate. Bravo!

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is authentic, and the Chicken was spectacular – definitely some of the best I’ve had. It’s distance from the touristy main streets allowed for an elegant atmosphere, and the restaurant is not extremely expensive either. Also somewhat relevant, this is one of the oldest restaurants in Paris, often listed as the first or second.

We came for lunch and had the goat cheese tarte and soup to start which were delicious, the main dishes, beef tenderloin with frites and roast chicken with gratin dauphinois both unfortunately arrived cold which was disappointing. The servers were inattentive and didn’t come by for us to send it back to the kitchen, also in the beginning they brought butter but forgot the bread.

It was absolutely perfect, I loved every bite. The beef fillet was incredibly tender and flavorful, and pairing it with the pepper sauce made it even better. The dessert was amazing as well, so creamy and airy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The portions were perfect, and it’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into every dish.
Overall, an amazing experience. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Wow! Might well be the oldest running restaurant of Paris, but I would understand why: very good quality food/ dishes at right sites and great flavours. The drinks are well selected, and besides the harming interior design, the service clearly outmatches everything. Splendid – thank you!

Ordered the tenderloin medium and realized when eating that the rarer parts were much better. The peppercorn sauce was wonderful. Will order rare next time. Also found the mash potatoes to be unique and a great experience.
We also had the chicken, enjoyed the delicate flavors but there was one spice that was a little unusual for our taste – still was very enjoyable and the dishes are both empty
The apple tart was wonderful !
The onion soup was odd – no cheese, just a cheese crisp (not like the photos on the website). Did not enjoy this version as much.
