This place is a fairly decent restaurant to visit with the family for a taste with of the border. Although this was a pickup order, I took some time to go over the menu, do a tiny bit of exploring the building, and a bit of interacting with some employees.
First, there was a bit of a wait for the order to be completed. Roughly 15 minutes or so. This translate to maybe about 25-30 minutes of total wait time for your food from delivery to when you’re visiting.
Staff was average. Not too talkative. They smiled though so that’s always a plus, but it seemed more like they were smiling because they almost had to.
The place was fairly clear. Nothing noticeably dirt or out of place.
I can’t during the midday so there was plenty of seating. Parking is plentiful as well.
The menu has a very wide selection of things to order m, and from different regions. And when I say it’s an extensive menu I mean it. Gordon Ramsey would definitely make them cut down a ton of the selection. But hey…maybe this is a good thing with a place such as this. The prices are decent, but there are some expensive things on the menu.
All in all, a nice place to go to relax and eat. If recommend this place to friends n fam.
UPDATE: more wrapper found as I continued to try to eat it because again the amount paid
I loved the interiors too, music was fun. Overall great visit. Would recommend it to anyone looking for good Mexican / Honduras / South American food.
How about a bowl of soup for almost $50 bucks? Not joking … they have one. Simple plates here cost over $20. “Specialty plates” can run $30-$40 each! Mind you – many restaurants still serve STEAK for $20-$30. Here, you get CHICKEN, or PORK.
Every waitress walks around with a “I hate everyone here and I hate my life” look on their face. I never once saw anyone smile – ever. Even when I thanked our waitress for all the hard work, never got more than a blank stare. Either these girls working here received zero training on how to be a waitress, or they’re being treated like slaves and forced to work here. Seriously. That’s what everyone’s face looks like.
One waitress who was taking care of a table with about 10 people looked especially sad and dejected. While she was cleaning up the table I asked her if everything was ok, if something bad just happened because her face looked so sad and angry. She then proceeded to complain that customers in big groups “don’t leave tips” and that she has to work for nothing. I initially felt bad for her because it’s true that the US has a unique tipping culture not found anywhere in the world where a servers’ wages come 90% from tips (unlike in the rest of the world where servers are in fact paid regular wages and a tip is simply a nice gesture for exceptional service – which is the way it used to be here in the US about 100yrs ago). Then, I saw one of the bills laying on the table … that had 18% TIP INCLUDED on the bill!!! Mind you, the normal tipping amount has for more than 70 years been 15%, so this waitress is already making more than the average amount. So, she either doesn’t realize that the tip is INCLUDED in the bill (how is that possible), or the restaurant is withholding servers’ tips (again goes back to my, “are these ladies modern day slaves here”??). Either way, not a nice look for a server to complain to a customer about not getting tipped, when customers are in fact getting charged extra high tipping fees. (Hint to the servers – if the restaurant isn’t paying you the tip money we the customers are leaving you – call the police!!)
Furthermore, as if this place can’t get any worse, they are now CHARGING PEOPLE TO USE CREDIT/DEBIT cards!! And if you ask why, they’ll give you this song and dance about how the credit card companies are charging them, so they now want to charge us. Really guys? Really? So … how about an “electrical usage” fee? Maybe an “surcharge for the napkins”? Oh, oh, I know … someone has to clean the bathrooms that some customers use – maybe you guys can add on a “bathroom cleaning fee”? Or, what about a “dishwashing fee” (those dishwasher use a lot of electricity to dry those plates no?) I mean, where does it stop? How many tic tac fees are we supposed to put up with? Note to restaurant: if the credit card companies are charging you too much money, then RAISE YOUR PRICES! At least that way, we can see exactly what we’re going to pay, instead of getting hit with a laundry list of EXTRA FEES at the end of our meal.
Can’t get any worse right? At the end of the day, you do come here supposedly for the food. Yup, that sucked too! Every single plate at our table was overcooked with all the meat being dry. Yucky. Nasty. Horrible food.
So, if you’re looking for a real nightmare dining experience and want to waste +$100 for 2 people to have a horrible experience, definitely come here.
