If you were looking for a classic bar to watch a game or other sports on TV and get a decent bar food meal then this is the place for you. We got the wings as an appetizer along with the brussels sprouts. Wings were pretty decent and they have a number of sauces to choose from, but the brussels sprouts were overly done and seemed like they had been sitting for a while before they were served. Again, nothing spectacular on the food front but a good place to meet friends.

Great little bar in the Ventura area. The restaurant usually has its windows wide open to let the fresh ocean air and breeze flow through.

Service is great. Football games post regular season will jam pack this place with sports fans. Be prepared to wait a little longer for your order.
The food is oretty consistent and I’ve never had an issue with it.

We will sometimes have groups of 10 or more people that stagger in throughout the day. The staff is always happy to push tables together and accomodate us. Somehow they always manage to keep our tabs straight (as much as they can for a big group that moves around).

TVs addorn every wall ensuring that you don’t miss anything — much like the north Koreans put images of their dear leader in all walls, nooks, and crannies– paying homage to the major sporting events of the day. If someone happens to stand up and stretch their legs in your field of vision, you just need to shift your focus just slightly to another corner and you missed nothing.

My only major complaint is the parking. Their lot is always packed, and even within walking distance the options are limited. Street parking has a 2 hour limit. Carpooling here is practically required.

We recently visited Social Tap Ventura and were absolutely thrilled! We tried the Southwestern Burger, Chicken Caesar Salad, and Pan Seared Salmon, and every dish was simply divine. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, the salad was fresh and crisp, and the salmon was tender and excellently prepared. The outstanding selection of beers was a perfect complement to our meal. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere was pleasant. We definitely recommend this restaurant and will be returning for sure!

I always come to the Social Tap to watch football. Great TV coverage. Love the place but yesteday the food was over cooked. I ordered chicken wings twice. The cook torched these dried up chicken wings. I was surprised they had the audacity to serve them. They were barely edible. The sevice is usually great but maybe yesteday they were overwhelmed. The place was a disorganized mess and God forbid somebody cleans the furniture. I went to move a chair and all this sticky whatever was underneathe the back rest. Someone should clean some of these tables before you start spreading some disease. Believe me I am a easy patron who tips well and I still did, but I need a break from the plave for the first time in years. Believe me, I love the local crowd and have met numerous friends here over the years. I have also brought an army of people into this place over the coarse of this year. I even write posts about the NFL and mention the Social Tap almost everytime. But I need to bring some of those folks to another place for the rest of the season. I also had a table back in tbe corner for the first game and used the menu to scrape the some gross something off the table top. They give about a four second swipe when they clean these tables and its just spreading food scum. They could also take that fish burrito and actually put some fish in it, instead of making it a rice burrito. Believe me the patrons would pay a few bucks more. Same thing with the egg burrito. Its mostly a potatoe burrito. We all laugh and nobody reorders it. You cannot go wrong with the hamburgers. Lately the tortilla soup is good. You will know when its not. Maybe the cook gets overwhelmed too. He just tends to overcook some meals. My friend had this battered chicken burger.. My goodness was it torched. I was amazed she never sent it back. I think she had about 1/3 of the sandwich. You could see when it was served something looked off.

The food was great, amazing even; the service however was by far horrendous. They took our order and didn’t bring us our drinks until 3/4 of our meal was eaten. Even then the only reason they brought the drink is because we had to call it to their attention and it was the only time they had checked on us. They did not refill our drinks, nor did they bring or offer conditions. It’s a shame the service is so bad, otherwise I would have loved to come back.

Neighborhood spot a few steps from the beach. Definitely wanted to like the place, as the atmosphere was ideal for a Saturday early afternoon. Server seemed overwhelmed and short on time when taking our order. Drinks take some time to arrive. Ordered truffle garlic fries and they came out lukewarm. Ordered a couple tacos and a buffalo chicken sandwich and asked for a couple dips that didn’t come out after 3 reminders. Was scolded by server that she was overwhelmed and didn’t understand why we couldn’t eat our food without dips. Politely asked to speak to manager and manager came over not interested in rectifying the situation and also appeared overwhelmed with the half full restaurant. Our server sent a different server to drop off our check and close us out. Sad experience from a place we really wanted to enjoy.

I always love this place. I’ve never gotten a meal or cocktail here that I didn’t love. Their Pina colada are delicious! I really love the churro waffle dessert as well. You can’t beat the location, right by the water, with great views from the patio area. The only draw back is parking. We usually have to park in the neighborhood a few blocks away and walk in.

I had the fish and chips platter and it was delicious. The chicken wings were great they were slightly drizzled in BBQ sauce. If you like BBQ sauce my recommendation would be to ask for extra BBQ sauce. Parking was a little difficult. Staff was prompt with service. They have an outdoor seating area not facing the ocean nerveless a great place to have lunch or dinner.

We had tacos, chicken wings and a hamburger. Service was impeccable. Ambiance was great. Food was average. Over price on the hamburger. If your going to make/sell a hamburger for $15 + it better be very good and it was average. The fries were good. I would go back for the outside seating. But not the food.
