The fresh bread is star of the show. I went with Lasagna. Just ok. I would recommend you try a sandwich that comes on that bread. I’d skip the salads as well. Bloomington has so many restaurants…this one just Ok.

The meat to bread ratio for the gondolas has gotten pretty ridiculous and I know it has not always been this way. Seems like you have to pay extra just to get an appropriate amount.

I would rather drive through 45 minutes of construction over to Peoria and eat at the avantis there before ever driving the 3 minutes to this location. The lack of servers and the poor food quality vs the old ways it mind blowing. All of the food seems like it’s just less in every way, taste and portions. This location is the epitome of owner’s greed. They got rid of servers a few years ago and everybody knows why. But now they’re making more money not paying servers and it’s causing this restaurant to fail. I feel like it’s struggling. And it shows in the quality of service and food. I’ve had issue with the service at this location for years actually. Rudeness is rampant. I don’t know if they just don’t have proper training or if they just don’t care. I can’t recommend anything about this place other than recommending that you find anywhere else to eat.

Order at counter was a surprise. Counter person did not smile. Person that served food was smiling and came out once to ask how things were. Should have had hair back when serving food.
Ordered an Italian beef with au jou. Nothing came with just dried warm beef with no flavor on bread that didn’t taste like usual delicious bread known for. Au jou was water with no flavor. Salad was good and so were the fries.

Horrible service since Covid. Why is every other place operating as normal except this place? Dine in is not the same as it used to be. It’s is awkwardly quiet. You have to place your order as soon as you walk in then find yourself a seat. You fill your own drink in the back of house almost seems like a dirty gas station. After you pay for your food all them employees disappear to the back. This place is EMPTY! I remember coming here and there would be a wait to get a table. They’ll be out of business sooner or later. It’s not the food, it’s the employees and atmosphere!

First time here and excited to try a new restaurant. Came in and was shocked you had to order at a counter like McDonald’s. Then you have to search for drink machine with paper cups. The food was very good but it felt very out of place on everything else. My son and I felt as we bothered the person that took our order.

You need to order when first go in. Had to get our own drinks. Food was ok except the beef sandwich was horrible. The ranch is the redeemer. We buy it by the half gallon and bring home. Place is ok

Obviously, this place is a staple or something. My girlfriend’s mom swears that every time she drives anywhere NEAR Bloomington, we have to get Avanti’s. I’m a New England boy who for whatever reason ended up in the midwest; I know my way around a sandwich. I love deli’s of all kinds, and sandwiches of all sorts- and I have to say: Avanti’s is up there with the best. Wonderful experience at dining at this location during our trip back home to the great state of Missourah from Michigan. Would go back!
