A Kansas native, I finally decided to eat at Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler. It did not disappoint! I ordered a Jr. Cheeseburger with shredded cheddar cheese, onion and mustard, with a side of fries, a side salad (I needed some veggies!) with a small cup of the Johnnie’s sauce. It was all pretty good! I liked the flame/charcoal taste of the burger. The sauce could be described as a mix of ketchup + BBQ. The side salad and Ranch dressing was all yummy. I’ll be going back soon!

Very crowded for lunch, and for a reason. The vegetable beef soup is so comforting on a cold day. Seasonal decorations were super cheery!

December 18th we went to the local on Brittain Road. My wife got the Theta burger and I got the frito chili pie. She couldn’t eat all her $8.60 Theta saying it didn’t taste good. I tried a bite. The sauce was slathered over the pattie and mixed with the cheese. Very messy like it was hurriedly assembled. The sauce was very salty and I took one bite. I’m guessing the pattie was also salted. The chili on my $7 frito chili pie was dry like it had been in the pot for a while. And, like most places, the suggested tip options are calculated on the total food bill including tax. Keep this in mind when swiping your card, especially if you have a large $ check total with a sales tax of 8.23%. The $6.80 onion rings were very crispy and good.

This is my first stop every time I visit OK. I could eat their onion rings for every meal! My favorite burger was always the chili cheeseburger, but the one I got last week had an unusual taste and I couldn’t eat the entire thing. Not sure what happened. But the service and onion rings were amazing as usual!

It was… alright. The Caesar burger was certainly unique, but we did wish the patties were thicker. They get drowned in sauce and buns. Fries were mid, I’d pick the onion rings over fries. Workers were all really friendly! But I wouldn’t put this place above any other burger place necessarily.

This is the first time we came to this Johnnies Burgers. It was awesome as usual. The sweet tea is VERY sweet. The onion rings were to die for! We are so glad we don’t live in Oklahoma city because we would be eating here a lot. I guess Oklahoma city is the only place they are located. It’s a little pricey, but worth it.

Johnnie’s Charcoal Broiler immediately evokes a sense of nostalgia as soon as you walk through the doors. You are taken back to a 1970’s diner in the best way possible. You get a great meal for your money, and the staff is extremely pleasant. Their riff on the theta burger is outstanding thanks to Johnnie’s Hick’ry sauce. The fries were fantastic as were the towering onion rings. Highly recommend.

One of the best burgers and onion rings in town. They also have a bar now, so that’s pretty great. The Jonnie sauce is a must for any meal, and to top it off a chocolate cream pie.

Been going to this Johnnie’s location since the early 80s when my parents brought me here as a kid and all my life. This is one of my favorite places to grab a burger. Now I bring my kids here.
