The Bequest Coffee is a standout destination for those who truly appreciate a well-crafted cup. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars for its dedication to quality coffee, thoughtful menu, and inviting atmosphere.

Ambiance: 5/5
This café strikes a perfect balance between modern design and cozy charm, with plenty of natural light and an open layout that makes it an ideal space to savor your coffee slowly.

Authenticity: 4/5
Their approach to coffee feels intentional and knowledgeable, with brews that highlight the beans’ natural character rather than masking it with excessive sweetness or heavy syrups. The breakfast and brunch offerings complement the drinks well, making this a versatile spot for both casual coffee lovers and seasoned enthusiasts.

Flavor: 4/5
The coffee is bold, clean, and aromatic with a clarity that suggests careful sourcing and precise brewing methods. Every sip carries a depth of flavor without bitterness, and the food is equally well-prepared, serving as a perfect pairing to the drinks.

Service: 4/5
Staff are warm and efficient, demonstrating a genuine interest in helping you choose the right brew or dish without overwhelming you.

Cost: 4/5
Pricing reflects the quality of their coffee program, and for those who value flavor clarity and craftsmanship, it feels well worth it.

Final Verdict: The Bequest Coffee is a gem for anyone serious about their morning brew. With its strong, pure flavors, curated menu, and serene ambiance, this café is a haven for coffee aficionados looking for depth and quality in every cup.

Edit to share my long term experience!

After several years as a devoted customer to Bequest, I can happily report that the quality of service and products has not changed. The coffee (and matcha!) is the best I’ve ever had, the pasties are terrific, the service is kind and friendly, and the atmosphere is amazing!

The cafe does get a very busy rush of customers on weekends, especially Sunday after the church goers show up, so please be patient and don’t come in if you are in a rush and going to be rude to the staff. ❤️

I’ve seen many businesses in this location come and go, but I’m hopeful this one will be around for good. The service, coffee, freshly made pastries, and atmosphere are all excellent. The baristas are kind and skilled, the baker is very obviously talented, and the shop is warm and inviting with a relaxing, cozy, feel with indoor and outdoor seating that offers warm lighting. I am so glad to find a local coffee shop I’m excited to visit and support. Don’t bother going anywhere else, this is where you want to be!

I love this place so much. So cozy. My dirty chai (with that little hit of cinnamon on top) is always perfect. The chocolate croissants (which my boo & I have come to refer to as chocolate pillows) are AMAZING. Soft, buttery, a folded bit of heaven. Get you one!

My husband and I are new to the area and the locals recommend to try out Bequest Coffee. Yesterday we went in and tried out a latte and a chai. We also decided to try a couple Açai bowls both were so good! The gals were super friendly but it seemed that maybe a couple were new as they didn’t know if we needed a number for our bowls and then when I went up to get our drinks I was first told they weren’t ours. In the end everything tasted yummy and the atmosphere was relaxing and just what I needed. Thank you ❤️

The cinnamon rolls and caramel macchiato (hot and cold) taste great at this coffee shop! It’s also a great place to chat, study, or work. Staff are super friendly, unlike the cold experience at He Brews in Lynnwood.

I generally enjoy this coffee shop. The staff are friendly and the drinks are good. However, the seating area can feel a bit loud and dark, and while the pastries taste good, they seem pricey for the portion size. They’re very light and flaky, so they don’t feel particularly filling.

Lately, the drink flavors have also been inconsistent. I’m not sure whether the ingredients are carefully measured or prepared more by eye, but the variation has been noticeable.

Overall, I recommend this coffee shop!

The pastures are tasty and the coffee is really good! I give the atmosphere four stars only because it’s really dark in the restaurant. The bacon and cheese croissant was really good!

We stopped by Bequest Coffee Co. for some matcha and strawberry pastries, and both were absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the quality was great. However, since we arrived about 45 minutes before closing, most of the bakery items were already unavailable. While we understand the late hour, the server seemed a bit rushed and reminded us of the limited options a few times, which took away from the experience a little. Still, the drinks and pastries we did get were excellent, and we’d love to come back earlier in the day to try more!

I wanted to try a new study spot and came across Bequest while looking through my options and I’m so glad I found this place!

The staff was extremely kind and helpful in helping me choose what to get. Their coffee was amazing (I got their seasonal flavor Golden Crunch) and their food was good too!

Will definitely be coming here again 😀

This was my first and last time visiting this coffee shop. I left there hungry and disappointed. I will preface part of this on the fact that I have a torn hamstring and am getting around by cane.

I waited in line to place my order for a spinach ricotta and paid. I noticed the people before me got a number, but I didn’t pay it any mind. Little did I know that was the first sign of my disappointing 15 minutes in this coffee shop.

I waited for my food to either arrive or be in the pickup area. After 15 minutes I decided it was time to go and ask for a refund if it wasn’t ready. I was asked if I wanted it to go and declined stating I would rather have my money back.

When I explained the counter person was able to give me the refund and mentioned about coming up to check, which I did at that time. I said I really don’t want to do much walking at the moment due to my injury.

It was suggested that I could come up next time if things aren’t ready. I emphasized my situation and stated there wouldn’t be a next time as I would let my review do the talking.

I went across the street to Visible coffee and had a much better experience. Your mileage may vary in the customer service space and things happen. It is how it is handled especially for a new experience where you have a loyal customer or someone who has time on their hands to write a review of the situation.

All I know is that I now where my Mill Creek coffee loyalty resides and it is not at the bequest of poor service.
