The food is so good here, could of been a little hotter temp wise but nothing wrong with anything we ordered! Margaritas were top notch. The lunch fajitas chicken and steak were really good. Bill was like 33 for lunch with a friend who moved far away but she loves it there. Definitely go lunch time! Speedy service, food comes out fast. Drinks are reasonable prices!

We’ve been ordering from here since we moved to Connerton in 2020. It’s extremely disappointing to say that for each one of the Nachos San Jose’s orders (3 in total), we received the small container with queso shown in the picture (right) as oppose to before where it was the size of the foam one, also shown in the picture (left). I understand things change, however the to go serving is NOT the same serving as to when you are eating in the restaurant.

I truly hope the owners go back to the previous container and provide the the fair amount of queso.

This place was pretty good, for the most part. While writing this review, I realized it’s Tuesday. No taco Tuesday specials were mentioned. Sadly.

Service: The service wasn’t very good, there were only a couple other tables. We got our boxes then waited more than 10 mins for the check. We had to get up and ask for it, because she never came back (we probably would have just waited, but we had somewhere to be.)

Food: You get freed chips and salsa and the salsa was SO GOOD! Not too spicy! I got the street tacos (carne asada) They were pretty good, they could have given more onions and cilantro, but good over all. I asked for a side of rice and beans (because nothing came with the tacos) and was shocked that it was an additional $7.50. The price for a side of rice and beans is a little absurd in my opinion. My street tacos were only 10 dollars. Rice and beans shouldn’t be more than 4 dollars (in my opinion.) Insane. My mom is a vegetarian and she went with the potato taquitos. Her only complaint was that they should consider adding cheese to the taquito and doing diced potatoes instead of mashed potatoes. She also mentioned it would have been nice to have a side with her taquitos, but they do not offer sides. Apparently you have to get any side ala carte?? Idk. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant where you don’t get a side of some sort.

Atmosphere: They have some music playing, it’s not too loud, it’s at the perfect volume. The inside is designed well with some nice decor. The tables for the booths are a little high (for a short person, like myself) so you feel a little low in your seat when eating. The temperature was perfect. It wasn’t too busy for lunch on a Tuesday.

Over all: The food was pretty good. The menu is a little pricey for lunch (41 dollars in total – this included our drinks.) The service needs be to worked on. I wouldn’t make a special trip there, but if I happened to be in the area and was hungry for some Mexican food, it’d be high on my consideration list.

Best thing here was the drinks. Food have no love no salt no seasoning. The server was very uninformative. Didn’t explain the taco Tuesday specials. Table was extra sticky. Serves nerved gave us any waters. Charged us for hot sauce. Never coming here again. If u love no flavor food just come here.

The Guacamole San Jose was outstanding. The chips are some of the best restaurant style tortilla chips I’ve ever had. I asked for a bag to take some home since I had leftover guacamole. The mushroom burrito wasn’t my favorite, but the ingredients were fresh, and it came out hot. Just a personal preference and not a complaint. The service was superb, and you could tell the team work from the staff was a genuine effort to keep everything running smoothly. Felt like a family owned establishment. I highly recommend you give it a try more than once. I would frequent this place if I lived closer.

San Jose Mexican Restaurant provided an excellent dining experience! I enjoyed the Birria Tacos, and they were absolutely incredible—tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The meat was juicy and slow-cooked to perfection, and dipping each taco into the rich consommé elevated the flavor even more. The presentation was impeccable, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. The friendly and attentive service contributed to the overall great experience. Whether you’re a fan of traditional Mexican cuisine or just want a delicious meal, I highly recommend San Jose Mexican Restaurant. The Birria Tacos alone are worth the trip!

Self proclaimed Mexican Food Snob.
The Carnitas and the Parrillada are to die for. GREAT Raspberry and Strawberry Margaritas as well. Chips are Homemade and Salsa is Really Good but too smooth for me.

My Only complaint, and its a small one, is the Guacamole is kinda waterdown and mixed with Crema.
It’s actually not very good at all but just a side condiment.
Their Pico is ON POINT. Fresh and Tasty.

We love this place and visit here weekly and will continue to do so. It is easily the best mexican within a 30 minute drive.

Great Service also!
