While staying at the hotel next door for the weekend, we did stop here twice for late lunches. The food was very good and the atmosphere and views of the waterway was amazing! Definitely recommend the fish tacos and the mac and cheese with shrimp. Had a pretzel for appetizer, was very good. Wings were about average; can’t go wrong with any of the fish or seafood choices. Was alao there in the evening hours and enjoyed 2 different bands, both were very good! Again, the atmoshere of the outside bar was great for our small group. Prices were a bit on high side but the food was good. Drinks were also very good! Service was ok, some was great and others not so much. Definitely recommend if youre in the area.

It was fine. Food prices were good, alcohol prices were high. 2 single jack and coke short was $16. 3 drafts of yuengling was $16.50. nice outdoor patio you can eat at next to the water. Service was good. Food came out quick. I really liked their fries, just wish I didn’t have to pay $3 to have them upgraded as a side to my wrap since I’m not a chip person

I’ve had a great experience here before. I’m hoping this was just the result of them closing the next day for winter break.
The food was underwhelming, which doesn’t match my previous experience. The bacon jam burger was a little dry, though the jam was excellent. The accompanying sidewinder fries (curly fries) were so dry they crunched. I thought they were leftover from lunch. They were the curly version of potato sticks.
Our bartender was incredibly nice and attentive. The atmosphere was dead, being the second day of January. I think there were two other parties at the bar. I don’t believe any tables were taken.
We plan to return in season as we are optimistic it will be a better experience.

Bang bang shrimp is on point. Best mussels around. The only place to get great mussels every time. Service is quick and pleasant. Love being able to sit outside or inside and view the water! We come from Lorain, which is not far to Huron, just for this particular restaurant vibe. Check it out. We even had my daughter’s 26th birthday dinner here where the grandbabies and the rest of the family could come and they accommodated by putting enough tables together for our large family a few years ago. Nice to sit and watch a football game and just have a few beers if that’s what you like also!! Not too crowded or overly loud during the daytime

Food Review: Harbor House – Bang Bang Tacos & Banging Shrimp Basket
If you’re looking for a bold, flavor-packed seafood experience, Harbor House delivers with their Bang Bang Tacos and Banging Shrimp Basket. Both dishes bring serious heat, crunch, and craveable flavor to the table.
Bang Bang Tacos:
These tacos are an absolute hit. Stuffed with crispy fried shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy bang bang sauce, they strike a perfect balance of sweet heat and savory crunch. The shrimp are fresh and well-seasoned, while the soft tortillas and crisp slaw add just the right texture and bite. Each taco is drizzled with a tangy sauce that ties everything together—messy in the best way. If you’re a taco lover who likes a little kick, these are a must-try.
Banging Shrimp Basket:
The shrimp basket lives up to its name—banging flavor in every bite. The shrimp are golden and crispy, with that same addictive bang bang sauce giving them a creamy, spicy punch. Served with seasoned fries and coleslaw, it’s a hearty, satisfying meal that doesn’t skimp on quality or portion size. The basket hits that comfort food sweet spot—crispy, flavorful, and indulgent without being greasy.
Final Verdict:
Harbor House nails it with these two dishes. The bang bang sauce is the star, giving both the tacos and shrimp basket a signature flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, these dishes are perfect for seafood fans who like their food bold, spicy, and full of personality.

Stopped for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. It was not crowded at all. They have about a half dozen beers on tap. We chose to sit inside, but they do have an eating area right on the waterfront. We chose two house specialties, the perch tacos and the grouper tacos. The perch tacos were just like eating a fish dinner. Perch filets fried to perfection and served on a bed of cole slaw and tomatoes. They were good. The grouper tacos are served on a bed of mango and tomato, giving them a more tropical taste. We also had the twisty fries that are kind of like curly fries, but much fatter. They were good with malt vinegar. Service was good and the place was clean. They have live entertainment in the evenings as well.

Arrived less than an hour before closing on a Sunday. We were very impressed with the service & the food. We loved the outdoor seating right on the water. They also had high chairs for the kids. We all ordered the perch and it was delicious! We definitely will be back next time we vacation in the area.

Had a great experience here. We were the only people in the restaurant so had a nice time talking to our server about the 2 cats that they take care of outside. The food was great, service was awsome….just need to get new barstools. They seemed to make you slide out of your seat.

Pros: Our server was friendly and very attentive.
Cons: The food was nothing special. Our group ordered 3 different entrees (wings, chicken Mac & cheese, and a chicken wrap). Nothing was bad, but certainly nothing I’ll be craving again. Bathroom was dirty. We sat outside and there were cobwebs EVERYWHERE. A good wipe down every so often would go a long way.
