Finally checked this place off the list before it closes after driving by for 17 years. Each plate is around the average price of other places. The portions are good size. The food had good flavor, but not wow factor. The atmosphere is chill. The service was the down fall… seemed like the waiter was in the weeds and the help took a break at the same time – even wasn’t busy. Empty glasses sat unattended for a good while till we had to ask – and then only one glass was filled. Didn’t even look over to the other water glasses or empty beer/cocktails. We even watched a person at another table take out a water bottle to use.

Came for a friends birthday.

They sat us down on the left side of the restaurant. Looks very homey. Even the blinds. When we left we saw the other side and it was really nice looking but they didn’t seat no one there.

We got the zucchini flower. When it arrived we were so confused. Didn’t taste like zucchini and tasted like cheese. We thought we were getting zucchini but apparently it was 3 different kinds of fried items.

I got the chicken parmigiana and it comes with stuffed ravioli. I was more excited about the ravioli and they only give you 2 pieces of it! My friend got the salmon it was okay. Lots of veggies with it. My other friend got the carbonara and it was so oily, that she’s scared to get another carbonara from somewhere else now.

We got the ice cream to share which was okay. You get a free dessert for your birthday.

The food was not great, less then average.

This was a wonderful mother’s day lunch. Thank you for all the years and memories. We remember Chandler and N. Scottsdale and were so happy to come to the Phoenix location one last time. We are looking forward to trying the new place when it opens across the street and hope to be around a long time to experience your hospitality. It’s sad to see the restaurant go after all these years but there are great things coming for you guys in the future!

Every now and again, a friend makes a very good recommendation for restaurants. This was one of those. Our friend, who is very knowledgeable about restaurants and is a budding chef himself, recommended Tomaso’s for dinner.

We had a large group, which was pretty promptly seated in the dining area. The waiter was a treat, full of humor and jokes and added to the entire experience. He started with the wine list, showing it to me – apparently as the head of the table. I opted for the Raspberry Martini instead, which he graciously accepted.

From there, baskets of bread started to roll in. You can make a meal of these pretty easily. Hold off though and wait for your meal. You’ll appreciate it.

I can’t tell you everything that was ordered around the table, but can tell you that one party member ordered the Pasta Carbonara from off menu and it was available, and very good. I had the Chicken Parmigiana, at the recommendation of the waiter. He was correct, as I loved it.

Other members sampled the Eggplant Tortino, Tagliatelle & Langostinos and Ravioli di Michelangelo Buonarotti. Apparently, all were very good. In fact, the only reason this rated a four was because the Tagliatelle & Langostinos were very, very spicy. Too much for my wife. We ended up trading meals, so she finished my Parmigiana and I had the Tagliatelle. It was warm, no doubt. I had worked up a good sweat by the time I finished it. If you plan to order it, be aware of the heat factor. Otherwise, a great place to dine.

It was further enhanced by the fact that our waiter graciously and patiently waited while we split the check up ourselves for all 12 of us.

One of the most exquisite Italian restaurants I’ve ever tried, rivaling even the food I had in the old country, as well as New York City’s Italian restaurants.
Too bad it’s closed, but I’ve already begun frequenting the other locations. They certainly don’t disappoint.

Everything was beautiful and clean! Great food! Clean bathrooms! Can reserve or walk in. It’s better to reserve, though, just in case. Italian music. Many tables. English and Spanish speaking. Very nice and polite waiters. I definitely recommend it!!
