Service was prompt but not hurried. You can take your time and enjoy your meal at your own pace.
Good wine selections and yummy cocktails.
I got a surf and turf, my wife got fish. Both very well prepared.
I liked their Key Lime Pie for dessert, and I am picky!
Going out for dinner can be pricey these days, but we’ve spend more for much less. Like I said, a good value for the quality.
Atmosphere is eclectic, but inviting.
We will return!
The menu has most all the typical seafood and steak you’d expect at a steakhouse. Their niche is cutting rib eye tableside to your liking, which was nice. We all ordered one, so the butcher brought a large one out for us to review and pick which side we wanted it cut from, as well as the thickness.
They also are known for their salad bar, which was really nice and offered a large selection of items and definitely the most salad dressings I’ve ever seen on a salad bar. All the food we tried was really good and fresh. I will say that one member of our party had his steak over-cooked (asked for medium rare and got medium plus, almost well done). There were a few other issues with service, bringing the wrong thing, etc, but they were very friendly, so it’s easily overlooked.
Overall, it was a decent experience.
The atmosphere, the staff, and the history here were all wonderful.
The salad bar was surprisingly impressive too. But the ribeye I ordered that first night missed the mark.
It came out tough, overcooked, and lacking seasoning. To be fair, my friend’s steak was excellent, so I chalked it up to an off night.
And I’m glad I did, because my second visit was a completely different story.
I brought my mom in for a Mother’s Day celebration, and from start to finish the experience was night and day.
The service was fantastic and this time the steaks were spot-on. Perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying. Both mine and my mom’s meals couldn’t have been better.
That’s why I never judge a place by one visit alone.
Every restaurant has its ups and downs, but when they get it right, it’s worth coming back for.
Overall, I’m happy to say this is a spot I’ll return to again and again. Looking forward to my third, fourth, and fifth visit…well you get the idea.
I’ve included a photo of the menu for reference. I personally ordered the 6oz filet mignon, substituted the salad bar for the soup of the day (broccoli cheddar) and upgraded the side to loaded mashed potatoes. Asked for steak medium rare and it came out more medium, which is what I prefer so glad I ordered less in anticipation that it would be overcooked. For drinks I ordered the cranberry mule off of the special seasonal drink menu and it was delicious. If you want water with your meal you’ll have to ask the server, they for some reason only brought out waters to those who asked. The food was enough for me to eat about half and have the other half packed away for next day’s lunch (it reheated well). Rolls were great too!
Parking is a bit of an adventure. The upper lot fills up so you can park in the lower lot across the street and be ushered over in a golf cart.
The bar looks like a fun place to sit. We were advised to come around 7:30 or 8:00 sometime if we’d like to sit there as it can be full.
Overall a great experience. Next time we come we might have them bring out the piece of meat and select our cut, as we saw other tables doing this.
The service was also excellent (shout out to Jennifer and Janice)! They were extremely attentive and kept checking on us and keeping our beverages filled.
The only gripe we had was the parking situation. There should be some sort of directions to the overflow lot. Also, maybe some stairs or something across the street from the lot. Having to walk up the road from the overflow lot to the driveway then up to the restaurant was a bit much. It didn’t ruin the whole night or anything, it just wasn’t a great start.
I was there on a holiday week and it was packed. There were seating in an adjacent room plus At the bar while you wait which was very nice!
I ordered the French onion soup which was absolutely delicious. The waitress although very busy was still very attentive to our needs. A great date night place to go or for special occasions! The fireplaces in almost every room made it so warm and inviting! Must put it on your list if you have not been!!
