Staggering Ox has delicious and unique sandwiches. I got a hot sandwich: the philly cheese steak. You choose their signiture bread or French bread (French bread is pictured) and get to choose a sauce. The most popular sauce is called camel spit and is a cucumber dill sauce.
For drinks there’s a huge variety, a plethera of bottled selections, fountain drinks (I got a Huckleberry soda), hot tea, or you can even get a local draft beer.
The staff was nice, the restaurant was clean, and the food was good.

Food is delicious, I love the unique and wide variety of sandwiches, the bread guts, Cheezy Guts, and the pizza. Prices are high. Atmosphere is a five ⭐️. They play good music. The bathrooms are very clean, overall good rate of cleanliness. The staff give excellent service.

This is such a Montana Gem! I’m so sad the other locations across the state have closed! Whenever I’m in town here I always get a sandwich from here! Never been disappointed with a Staggering Ox meal and that sure didn’t change today! Absolutely love this place! So unique and the fresh baked bread always makes any sandwich special!

I ordered the Italian sandwich and it was delicious. The dipping sauce was also good. The bread is made there and it was so fresh and soft. I love the concept of how they make the bread into a cup. I am definitely going to go back if I am ever in Montana again! The service was very friendly and informative. Prices were also very affordable.

Overall I like coming here the food is usually very good. It usually has a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. On my last visit (8/11/23) sadly the food and service wasn’t up to the usual snuff. The food was very slow to get to the table and it wasn’t really worth the wait either. Dry crunchy rice isn’t what I usually get here. Hopefully just an off day for the kitchen.

I actually really liked the staggering ox. It’s a unique twist on a sandwich shop that’s entertaining and pretty tasty. I tried the S.O.B. and it was pretty good! The only thing I wish they had is like, plates to catch my crumbs haha. Also, as a side note, the staff are all friendly and funny they all were cracking jokes and seemed to enjoy working there, which I like to see! I will be back to try more food from them!

Great place to eat here in Billings. Usually busy at lunch but always worth the wait. Staff is always friendly and probably has one of the best radio ads as the poems are great.

My sandwich was delightful, and the French onion soup was so amazing that my host decided to order one for himself! Everything was top quality. The food was superb, the staff were all friendly, upbeat, and made good suggestions. Service was very fast, even though they were surprisingly busy for a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was super clean. The prices were also very good!
Whenever I visit Billings, I try a new restaurant, and the Staggering Ox really stands out! If you’re looking for a unique place to take your friends or family ( or yourself) out for a meal, they have great variety, excellent service, affordable prices, and most of all, delicious food!
