It’s a hotel restaurant with an upgraded interior and completely different menu from what was shown in the pictures on Google Maps. Definitely no more one pound chicken fried steak or salad bar or soups, sadly. They’re trying very hard to be a more upscale restaurant with mixed success. The poor waitress was having a really difficult time with the ordering and payment machine.

We got a mix of things for sharing as none of us was super hungry, but we ended up spending well over 35 dollars a piece. So the prices are significantly more.

We got the Korean Sticky Ribs, which were excellent. They arrived hot, crisp, and had a wonderfully savory and sweet sauce with beautifully sliced jalapenos for optional heat. The Mediterranean plate of appetizers was okay, but not great, the pitas were a little soggy, the tzatziki was spilled into the board, and the roasted carrot hummus didn’t taste like hummus (nearly no sesame paste or olive oil), the olives were stellar and the marinated veg was good.

The fried green tomatoes were good, hot from the fryer and crisp with a nice dressing. The garden salad was substantial with a good ranch (even though the menu said it would have a vinaigrette), the Ranch was good, just not what we’d ordered.

The odd disappointment was the beef stroganoff, there was tomato in the sauce… And the exotic mushrooms were completely overwhelmed by everything else in the sauce. The pappardelle was quite good, but the beef had been braised to the point of falling apart. It was almost like someone was trying to make a ragu that had a few of the same ingredients as a stroganoff, so decided to try and call it that instead as more people in the Midwest would know what that was? I didn’t know, but it really wasn’t Stroganoff. It was beautiful, as you can see in the picture, but definitely not worth 33 dollars.

I’m a chocolate martini lover. I make ‘em at home…I order them when out and about. City Limits was recommended by our AirBnB host, so when we stopped in to grab a bite, I ordered a chocolate martini, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Darius was happy to make one for me, and it was great! Kudos to Darius!

I do not recommend.
The menu changes every time I visit, and now a plate of 2-3 chicken tenders is $16 with no side.

Soup and Salad Bar was disappointing for $15; only 1 soup, tomato, and it was about marinara consistency and tasted like Campbell’s; there weren’t meat options for the salad such as ham, chicken, or bacon. I would be upset paying $8 for a single soup buffet.

The burger was definitely delicious, but the fries were gray, spongy, and half stale.

The service was wonderful. The hostess and waitress were both very formal, kind, and warm.

We had dinner at City Limits in Colby, KS, and it was far, far above a typical highway stop. Everything was seasoned perfectly.

I had the short rib sandwich and my wife had the duck—both were excellent. The food, service, and atmosphere all came together for a wonderful experience.

Our waitress, Hayden, took great care of us, and we would absolutely come back. Highly recommended!

Unattentive wait staff. Food was absolutely terrible. I don’t think they know what salt and pepper is. No spice on anything. Burger was just, I think meat, with no seasoning. Short rib sandwich, no flavor or seasoning. Salads were wet, soaking in water, mush, and the chicken was dry as the desert. Im not a picky eater, but this was really bad. I mean really bad! STAY AWAY!!!

The wife’s take: The Burger was semi warm on the outside but cold in the middle, there was absolutely no seasoning and the cheese looked plastic, like it was heated in the microwave. Could barley get one bite down. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone as I feel even a monkey could cook better then the food we received.

You know it’s always tricky to find a place on I 70 Coming through Kansas….. It’s a little more concerning if you have to drive around a fairly deserted hotel? But this place is **totally worth it! My smoked old-fashioned was beyond good maybe better than the drinks I had in Steamboat Springs Colorado! I had the cauliflower appetizer ate my husband’s mashed potatoes, he gobbled his burger down wonderful service. Highly recommend!!

We stay in Colby often when traveling across Kansas and are so thankful for City Limits! Great menu, such a good variety, fresh ingredients. We are always too full to try dessert, but the dirty martini is one of the best we’ve ever had. And who knew such delicious fish n chips could be found in Colby?

Very nice place. It would be nice to have some more vegetarian options (at least some pastas or pizza or sandwiches )
The salad bar was ok and the soup (carrot and ginger was very good)
My wife had a burger that she loved. Fries were not great.
Service was really good. And it was nice to have some draft beer!

Good food, great service, and an excellent Friday night treat. Katy and Darius were an incredible duo between server and bar tender. The food came out hot, the drinks weren’t over poured, and it was the perfect end to a long work week.

The salad bar needed attention but if you go to a place like that for salad you might be confused.

We popped in for dinner since we’re staying at the conjoined hotel. Jenna was our waitress. She was very kind and professional. She knows the menu well and gave great suggestions when asked. She’s definitely an asset to your team. We were here one year ago, and this experience was much more enjoyable. Thank you, especially to Jenna.
