Donuts for Grownups! Blue Star Donuts is a gourmet donut concept founded in Portland, OR in 2012. Our donuts are made from a classic brioche recipe that originated in the south of France. The dough takes 18 hours to make and is made by hand every day; we start with a high quality bread flour, add cage-free eggs, whole hormone-free milk, and then fold in a European-style butter. Our donuts, glazes, and fillings are made fresh throughout the day, without artificial colors or preservatives, and we prioritize collaborations with our community vendors. Selections change seasonally and sell out quickly. We proudly serve Blue Star Blend by award-winning Coava Coffee Roasters (drip, espresso, and Nitro cold brew), as well as Portal teas!

It’s Blue Star. Enough said, right?! IYKYK. Hands down our PDX fave. Move over Voodoo, you’ve become completely irrelevant in the doughnut landscape that makes up this fine, French brioche landscape. They often sell out. And they’re often on the Too Good To Go app, so that’s a major win. Customer service is far superior to the regular Portland slump. You won’t be disappointed.

Because they don’t make the donuts at this location we can bring our pup in which has been amazing for her training. The staff are all so lovely and patient with us while we multitask training and ordering. The donuts and lattes are delicious and they have a great rewards program. Our favorites are honestly the vegan donuts. The orange olive oil is maybe one of the best donuts I’ve ever had.

The old fashioned donut here is the greatest donut I’ve ever had in my entire life. I don’t even know what else to add besides that. The taste, sweetness level, texture, moisture, everything was perfect. No notes. Expensive but worth every penny.

Best blue star donut experience. I’m now hooked. Often choose one and it was always not my thing. Well no more! I’m not a huge fan of their old fashioned as they have too fried of a taste but they’re my husband’s favorite. Favorites were the OG which was very light and airy and the maple which is more of the cake donut. Staff was super friendly and humored us with a fun photo too. Will for sure come back.

The chocolate bergamot donut is so good!! The blueberry basil is also incredible. If you like just plain black coffee, their blend is great. The sugar & spice donut was a little dry but dipped in my coffee, it was amazing. Apple fritter was really good but also a tad dry.
