Reviews
The salad had red onions on it that were soft and not crisp, WAY past their prime, they should never have been put on the salad. I love onions on my salad so that was a disappointment. I had one soft wilted looking onion slice and the flavor was fine but the texture was hard to get over so I tossed the rest of them. The grilled chicken was completely cold so also not made to order. It probably comes frozen and premade with grill marks on it and they just thaw it and put it on the salad which is super lame and which is why I’m giving only a 3 star review. The portions were big which was nice because I only ate about half my salad and took the rest to go. My friend said his sandwich was great and very filling but it was a shame the fries were barely warm. He asked for a side of blue cheese and they gave a big amount. So no issues with the portions but the quality was not great. I liked that they had pepper and salt grinders on the table, I liked both freshly ground on my food so that was great.
The waitress was nice but she initially only brought us 2 napkins, not sure if that is some policy of theirs but it looks like they are being pretty cheap. The sandwich had a ton of sauce on it and it was dripping out all over so pretty messy and would take at least 2 napkins for that so we had to ask for more and she brought us a few more which was nice, but we really shouldn’t have had to ask, I mean come on.
Not super expensive but also not super impressive. I would definitely come back and maybe try the tacos next time but if the next time the food is also sub par that may be my last time coming here.
We arrived on a Tuesday evening shortly before 6:30. The place was moderately filled, and we were greeted and seated immediately. Kelsey, our pleasant server, attended to our needs while training a new hire.
For an appetizer, we selected the Boneless Wings & Skins Sampler, which consisted of hand-breaded boneless wings covered in Gold Fever (a mix of honey mustard and honey barbecue sauces) and potato skins. The chicken was tender and not overly breaded, but still having a bit of a crisp.
Also selected was the Pork Carnitas Mac & Cheese, crafted with cheese skillet-baked creamy cavatappi spiked with jalapeño peppers and topped with slow-roasted pork carnitas and Pico de gallo. The dish was also drizzled with chipotle sauce and fresh cilantro, and served with warm rustic bread. The pasta was made al dente, with the jalapeno peppers providing a pleasant bite. The pork was delicious, and all the combined ingredients meshed well, resulting in a delightful meal.
Finally, we ordered a cheeseburger with Vermont cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The fried burger was fine, the bun was fresh, making this classic meal satisfying.
Don’t overlook 99 Restaurant and Pub. The food was very good, and the staff was hardworking, always aiming to please. I’d be very surprised if I discovered there weren’t many loyal customers.
Wasn’t packed. Good seating.
They gave complimentary popcorn.
