Nestled in the hillside above the lodge, the Stagecoach Restaurant offers panoramic views of the surrounding cliffs, mesas and teetering structures of Monument Valley. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the menu features an extensive mix of authentic Southwestern and native Navajo cuisine, along with classic steaks and vegetarian options. A favorite dish is the Navajo Taco, made fresh with homemade frybread. Due to Navajo Tribal Law, alcohol cannot be sold on the Reservation, including at the Stagecoach. However, a selection of non-alcoholic beer and wine is available. Reservations are not required. Banquet and meeting facilities are available for private functions with advanced booking. Breakfast was Lame . (so minus 1 star). The menu sez “house made corned beef hash “. “Housemade “ must mean canned, warmed up, maybe we add some onion … my wife’s breakfast burrito was fine.
However, we met the nicest people breakfasting seated next to us … a joy meeting new friends!
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Their seasoned breakfast potatoes and seasoned French fries are delicious!!!!
We had the ribeye and salmon meals. Both were cooked perfectly! The ribeye was cooked to the temperature we ordered and flavorful. The salmon was incredibly juicy with a crispy exterior. They came with delicious sides as well. The vegetables were juicy and flavorful. Very satisfying after a day of exploring nature. We also got the rice pilaf which was fragrant. And the baked potato was comforting with butter and sour cream. I feel like my photos don’t show how delicious the food is.
We ended our meal with a slice of cherry pie. It was warm, gooey, sweet, and just the right amout of tart.
So happy we discovered this restaurant on our Arizona and Utah roadtrip. Definitely the best restaurant we’ve had in our trip.
We also appreciated the service. Because they were timely, attentive, and very happy. We felt very taken cared of. I hope to get to enjoy this restaurant again in the future!
My husband really enjoyed his large Navajo Traditional Taco.
