In 1987 we redeveloped the Tinicum Flats building at 1101 N Water St into Milwaukee’s first brewpub. Now in 2022 we are opening back up with a re-envisioned concept named, the Brewery. Showcasing the original 1889 cream city brick paired with our unique collection of memorabilia, local artwork and neon signage helped capture the feel of the original building. We offer casual small plate dining and award-winning, handcrafted beer brewed on-site. Located in the heart of Milwaukee’s entertainment district, our guests can expect DJ’s, pool tables, darts and lounge style seating for private parties and to watch your favorite sports team!

“Brewery brunch, not just for drunk college kids”

First and foremost, I love this building. I’ve been coming here since before it was The Brewery, drinking root beer with my mom after the symphony. Being able to come back now and enjoy an adult beverage here will never not feel nostalgic.
Now that we got that out of the way, I recently went to their new brunch with some friends and safe to say, it’s now on my list of favorite brunch spots.
Let’s start with drinks… I love a morning bevvie. Please cure my hangover with a delicious concoction and they did that. I started with an espresso drink the HAIR OF THE DOG and quickly followed it up with something sweet , the NOONA COLADA.
We ordered a bunch of things for the table to share and the incredibly kind manager came over to help us pick out a few things. He told us some of his favorites and how they ended up on the menu.
We started with the hash brown dippers which were a fun and easy thing to snack on. My friends loved the breakfast hot pocket ( I did not try it because I’m a vegetarian) I had the one of the avocado toasts and the berry waffle. We had a few other things because when in Rome but I can’t remember all of them because we were surprised with their fun group the SANGR-YEEHAW.
I would honestly go back just to drink out of that cowboy hat again.
Besides fun drinks and good food, there are tons of seating options so good if you come with just a friend or a group.

It was really loud in this place. We had to move seats because the music and other patrons were very loud where we originally sat. You order on your phone from a QR code at your table which I thought was cool and convenient, but I didn’t like how they asked for a tip the same as had we been served by a human. The bartender who brought over our beers was nice, and overall I liked the place, but it was not what I was going for that night which is on me. It definitely seemed more like a cool place to hang out with friends than a place to have a quiet intimate dinner.

We just happened to stop in before going to see Wicked. As it was they had a Wicked Pop-Up bar event going. So happy we stopped, we had a blast! We sat at the bar, enjoyed drinks, an appetizer and a sandwich each. The food was wonderful and the bartenders were fantastic

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It was nice and quiet. Food was incredible. We ordered a few random items to make one meal. Biggest critique I have is portion sizes. The appetizers which they label as snack are literally just that… a snack… it was small for even 1 person much less if you brought a group. So keep in mind if you come with a larger group it can get expensive fast. We ordered the brunch smash burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while.

our server Matt was awesome!! so nice and brought our food so quick! however the manager was throwing napkins and acting crazy in here. I heard some complaints from other customers as well… but overall I love this place and would be back again

Matt was our server and he was absolutely great.
Both bartenders were not paying attention the manager (mustache, short brown hair and glasses) was very drunk and continued drinking all night, he also stood up on the bar and was throwing napkins all over the floor. My fiancée felt very unsafe and like she would be touched by the creep men and bartender that were harassing all the other women on the dance floor. Overall someone one needs to take control of this situation, but Matt was absolutely great and the only one who cleaned the napkins.

Good and beers are very good here. It’s QR code ordering, so you have very little interaction with staff unless you’re sitting at the bar. That aspect makes the service feel “cold” and odd on how to tip. It’s also very dark inside. The burger and fish fry were very tasty, as were their selection of micro brews. Great place to watch sports.

For a Sunday evening, crazy in this joint! However, I was quick to see that the bartenders were drinking heavily. Our bartender, looked to also be the manager (mustache and glasses), was standing on the bar and throwing napkins on the dance floor. I felt terrible watching one of his employees try to sweep up the mess while the manager proceeded to dance on the napkins and hit on customers. I did begin to feel unsafe seeing that the manager was intoxicated, so if anything were to happen, he would not be alert. Pretty unfortunate. Matt was our server, also the guy sweeping up the napkins. He was lovely.

We came here before watching Wicked, and we enjoyed drinking the Wicked themed drinks! The chicken tenders were also the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend them!
