We stopped here by chance on a trip back from the botanical gardens and it was just amazing! The lobster roll was the biggest I have ever seen! The wait was long-ish, and they are cash only, but all well worth it. We were also with some friends who don’t like seafood and they said the burgers, fries, and hotdogs were amazing too!

Cool Lobster Shack. Large outside dining area. we got there on the last day of the season and luckily beat the crowd. Appears to be a local favorite. It was kind of nasty out so we ate in the car. Outstanding Lobster Roll.

We were waiting in the loooong line for Red’s, and after doing a little research we decided to try Sprague’s instead, and I’m glad we did. The lobster roll was great, huge with large pieces of lobster, served with butter or mayo on the side. It’s right on the water, so you can eat and enjoy the scenery. The service was friendly and fast. Skip the line, come to Sprague’s!

Our first lobster roll!
Pro tip: it’s served cold—which totally caught us off guard. It was loaded with lobster and came with butter or mayo on the side (we picked butter, but it felt a little funny with chilled lobster).
It’s a cash-only spot with an ATM onsite, and the roll was around $35. We also tried the clam chowder and cheese fries—both were good! Bonus: you can eat right on the water with njce views.

This is located just off of Main Road. They only accept cash and do not take debit or credit cards but there is a ATM machine on the premises. There’s not a lot of parking but they do have a small section in back for a $2 for the parking fee. We went at lunch time and they had at least eight people ahead of us in line. Once the order was taken it was about 20 minutes before we got our food. The lobster roll was very good and you at your choice of mayonnaise or melted butter with it. The lobster roll at probably about 7 / 8 ounces of meat on it. If I lived here I would go here more often

Had steamed clams. I am used to little necks. These were different but delightful. Lobster roll was excellent. Crab roll was extremely minced on the split roll. It tasted great but the roll was too crunchy. I ate just the crab meat. Had Captain Eli’s root beer that was enjoyable. Nice view of the water. The interesting thing is there was no line , like across the street at Red’s seafood. We watched what looked like the line was never moving. Sprague’s do not take credit or debit but they have an ATM to get cash. It is worth the stop and there are also little booths like pottery stores, jams and seasoning and a dairy display.

Order and take your food to a picnic table on the dock. Nothing fancy, but we’ll worth it! Prices can’t be beat. $18 for a 1 1/4 pound lobster or $35 for twin lobsters. Lots of other items on the menu, too. Parking is a bit tight. Check for times that they are open before heading out. Don’t forget to have some ice-cream after your meal. A great Maine experience! CASH ONLY, no credit cards.

Good location on the highway. Cash only unfortunately. There is an ATM with a four dollar fee. Prices are comparable to other Lobster places. Nice seating area with umbrellas and right on the water. Service was super friendly and explained how to cut open the lobster.

At Sprague’s Lobster, they don’t play when it comes to lobster rolls. Fresh, buttery, and spilling over with sweet Maine lobster, this roll is proof that size does matter. The waterfront setting is gorgeous, and it’s the kind of place you want to linger and soak it all in. Friendly service, incredible food, and that small-town Maine charm make it a must-stop. Worth every mile to get here!

This family run business is the best! Their lobster rolls are divine. I’ve been a fan since I moved here almost 5 years ago ~ but on Monday I went for lunch and they really earned a customer for life What could have been an embarrassing situation for me ended up with me leaving with incredible gratitude in my heart. You can make alot of money in life with great quality food and people will remember you. But the kindness you show along the way is what people will never forget. And the view is beautiful even though it seems to be raining each time I come. I highly recommend!
