Great! Everything was great.
The food was fresh, quick, and delicious. They didn’t skimp on anything. Classic lunch counter feel to the whole place.
Even the other customers were engaging and pleasant. If yu get the chance, drop in and get you some.

If you’re in the mood for some good old country cooking this is the place to be. This place gets really busy during lunch for a small place so make sure you beat the line before noon. I ordered the Texas cheese steak on toast it was buttery and cheesy just how I like it. They have really good Mac and cheese too.

Can’t believe I just now found this place, it has been in Augusta for a very long time… and I can see why!

WOW is all we could say when it came to eating lunch here for our first time ever.

We both got the bacon cheeseburgers and asked them to add an egg on top. Amazing, this is a REAL hand made patty and grilled to perfection. Added on a heaping helping of fresh cut fries, again… AMAZING.

Can’t say enough about this hidden treasure hiding over off Peach Orchard Road, it is try a good experience eating out. Bring the family for breakfast also, I am sure you will NOT be disappointed!

Wife and I we’re first time guests… Got there around noon… They didn’t have straws, the didn’t have sausage..wife ordered extra crispy fries instead she got rubbery cold fries.. they did make her another batch…I asked for raisin toast with my meal they gave me white bread. It took forever to receive our meal, it was cold and wrong will not be going back. This is for the old timers and locals who’ve been coming here for years and haven’t experienced REAL country cooking. Sorry for this negative response but it is very true

Great local family food. Menu said they had been there since 1961. I believe it, the prices can’t be beat, hands down the cheapest meal we have had as a family. But that doesn’t mean the food was bad either. Food was a solid we liked it and would return. Staff was super friendly and quick. This is most definitely like a southern granny’s recipe book. Grits, over easy egg and toast with corned beef hash for hubby’s plate. Kiddo had pancake and bacon. Corn beef hash with scrambled eggs with cheese for me. I got biscuits with mine so asked for a small side of gravy. And side of home fries for the table. The biscuits were tasty buttery flavor with more crumble then chew which I prefer. The home fries was slices fresh potatoes that are put in deep frier, simple but good and nary a complaint for the table. The gravy is was ok, pretty sure it is canned or comes from the bulk mix. Overall the food was good, service was great, prices where amazing, and the family all liked it. Would recommend and go back. Always like supporting the neighborhood local establishment.

Got Saturday breakfast of 2 eggs, grits, and country ham. It’s not on the busiest stretch of Peach Orchard so you have to know where you’re going but it was worth looking for. The country ham was generous for the price and I thought some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant. Appropriately salty but not too much and more tender than most. Service was good and three different folks made sure the coffee cup stayed full. My sister got the Pancake special with city ham and took half of hers home. Good value too, less than 20 bucks. If you’re on the Southside wanting breakfast I’d recommend them.

First time visiting. My impressions: older crowd, FOX news type of crowd(see pic #2). Service was decent, and Luke many others said don’t expect servers to check back. The foo was southern style and food. I had Monday special – liver and onion (yes.. minimal onion).

Expect FOX news conversations from fellow diners.

And, gave them a 2 because it is a restaurant and the food was good, but when I had you my card to pay I expect you to hand it back to me and not throw it on the counter!

Will not be back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Extremely slow. I called in an order and waited 20 minutes to leave my house. Once I got there I had to wait an additional 20+ minutes. It happened twice. I never went back after the 2nd time. It’s not worth the wait.

Very cheap and plentiful home style breakfast. Platters, omelettes, pancakes, sandwiches, etc they really have everything. Our service was outstanding. Those ladies were really in there hustling!

The daily lunch specials are always good. I like the Mac and cheese, and the chicken and dumplings the most, problem is, these two items are never available on the same day! The cornbread pancake is delicious as well.
