We ordered takeout dinner (for four) over the phone from this Japanese Steakhouse restaurant and went there to pick it up after half an hour. Although prices are a bit on the high side, the quantities are hefty and the food was delicious.

First time at this hibachi and probably our last. We ate lunch here at 12:30pm and I still have a weird taste in my mouth at 10:45pm. Almost like a burnt grill taste. The food was not very good but the service and atmosphere were great! Our server was great with our son and very attentive. For three people (2 adults 1 child) you would think a $178 bill the whole thing would be fantastic. I would rather have terrible service than terrible food.

Haven’t been in a while and won’t be going back. The food was terrible. Shrimp tempura was sprinkled with some sort of seasoning salt. The dipping sauce was inedible, salty, and not like a tempura sauce in the slightest. Also two fishy-tasting and small pieces of shrimp, one sweet potato and zucchini medallion, and one small piece of broccoli was $13.50. Hibachi was the worst I’ve had and went unfinished. Rubbery shrimp and scallops. As before, the shrimp tasted off. The place was also filthy. Sticky floors, the most disgusting high chair, menus that were stained, sticky, and tattered. Sushi was okay, fried rice was good (but an upcharge with hibachi when it’s normally standard fare, even when I went years ago). Service was good. That’s the only reason I’m not leaving one star.

The hibachi grill experience was a highlight, with the chef entertaining us while cooking the food right in front of us. I had the filet mignon, and it was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The vegetables were sautéed just right, and the fried rice was delicious.Definitely worth the visit if you’re looking for great food and entertainment.

Food was not as on point as usual, but the atmosphere was top notch. The servers were super friendly but it was the end of the night on Sunday and it took 40 minutes for water, then our table was moved, from a super sticky table to one that wasn’t.
It was our Christmas party and we enjoyed ourselves but one of the staff (managers?) Came off as a bit…unkind? Maybe she was stressed. I don’t know but the chef was great! Just the food was only ok this time. It happens. Drinks were good.

I have been going to Ichibans for 30 years, last night was the last time I will ever be there.
A party of 3 at the hibachi table, celebrating my friend’s birthday. Our veggies were not even close to cooked. What made me the most mad was 2 of us ordered the filet upgrade. The guy next to us ordered the steak not upgraded. When the food came out all 3 steaks looked the same no filets. The chef cut , cooked, and served all 3 the together. Ours was ordered medium rare his medium well. None of the meat was medium rare. When the chef tried to serve me I said filet he just nodded. 1 bite definitely NOT filet but still upcharged my bill. What does it say when you walk out saying the veggie tempura and sushi roll was the best part of the meal.

We arrived an hour early for our reservation but were seated within 10 minutes. Service was quick and efficient, although empty soup and salad bowls were never picked up. Salads with ginger dressing were good but there was a large pool of watery dressing in the bottom of the bowls. My hibachi steak had some pieces of fat and gristle. Enjoyed the chef’s “show” at the grill, and we got a huge amount of food–filled a take-home box! Each got a delicious mini cupcake with candle–and Happy Birthday sung in Japanese–at no extra charge. Price wasn’t bad for the amount of food. Will go back in the future.

Celebrated my daughter’s 22 birthday here today and we could not have had a more enjoyable experience! 3 of us for hibachi. The chef was talented, funny, and food was delicious!! Bridgette our hostess, who we later found out is the manager, catered to us as if we were the ones there. To top it off, Bridgette and another young lady came to our table to sing Happy Birthday in japanese. Would HIGHLY recommend Ichiban Steakhouse. Thank you again!!

As far as Japanese steakhouses go we don’t have many in the central New York area. This is probably the best one honestly. The staff is great and doing the typical cracking jokes as they make your food. And when the food is ready it’s very very good. Specifically the salmon is a very good portion size and tastes good. The teriyaki chicken is where the moneys at though. It’s the cheapest and in my opinion the best.
